Capital Cup is a national undergraduate mooting tournament hosted by the Carleton Law & Legal Studies Society in cooperation with Carleton University. The tournament was founded in March 2011 and takes place every fall in Ottawa, ON. The 7th Annual Capital Cup will be held this fall on November 6th and 7th. The tournament is open to all universities and colleges across Canada. Undergraduate and gr

aduate students with an interest in pursuing a legal education are provided with an opportunity to gain advocacy experience and enhance their legal research and writing skills.

The Carleton Law Society will host the Capital Cup Undergraduate Mooting Tournament virtually on Saturday, November 6, 2021, and Sunday, November 7, 2021. Participation is open to all Undergraduate Moot Societies across Canada.

The Organizing Committee is currently seeking to determine the level of interest in this year's tournament. Therefore, if your moot society is interested, we ask that you please fill out the Google Form in our bio by September 30, 2021. Once we determine the level of interest, we will provide more information regarding the tournament platform, cost and registration.

Hi everyone! Congrats to the teams making Day 2 tomorrow! Here is the schedule for tomorrow;

8:00am: arrival at Elgin St. Courthouse (161 Elgin St. Ottawa)
8:30am: round of 16 will begin

Advancing rounds will occur after the end of the previous round, with a small break (approximately 10 minutes) between. The higher seeded team will choose which side they are mooting.

Hi everyone! Here is the final schedule for tomorrow. The format for tomorrow has been reworked; we are running 3 rounds (A, B and C). Each round will be 35 minutes long (28 for submissions plus feedback). Due to unforeseen circumstances of losing a significant amount of judges today we had to rework the format of the tournament. Sorry for any inconvenience/confusion this may have caused!
