"There was a such a resounding wave of support from community members that helped me make what I’m doing now so successful.” - Akos Asare
Good things grow in Ontario's Highlands – the diversity and abundance of the landscape easily explains the abundance of small farms, market gardens, berry farms, and even vineyards and cideries.
The agricultural potential in this region was something of which Akos Asare (pronounced ah-kose) had no knowledge before settling in Deep River with her family in 2019, but it nevertheless has had a big impact on her family’s life here.
The strong sense of community in Deep River and a burgeoning desire to strive for sustainability inspired Akos to found Re.Planted, a garden built from a network of underutilized front lawns.
