I realize I've been pretty quiet here unless it related to the Renfrew project that I was working on.

But I'm still making progress on my PhD. And I have updates!

๐Ÿ“šFrom April 8th through May 5th I'll be in my reading period for my comprehensive exams (sort of a gatekeeping thing I have to do before I can start research for my dissertation). Which means I'll be really quiet and really boring because I'll also need to wrap up my grading for the courses I'm teaching at the college and the university.
๐Ÿ’ปFrom May 6th through the 13th I'll be writing the answers to the 3 questions that make up the comprehensive exams. I'll be exceptionally quiet. (Seriously, who writes ~ 60 pages in 7 days??)
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น My PhD supervisor and I had a paper accepted into the EGOS conference in Milan in July.
๐Ÿ• We also had a panel symposium accepted into the Academy of Management conference in Chicago in August.
๐Ÿค“ We have a lot of research and writing and preparing to do between now and those conferences, including a research trip to Vancouver in the middle of my reading period. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

A few of you saw me struggle with the conference applications at the end of last year / beginning of this. Many of you know how much I've been juggling. I am UNBELIEVABLY excited and grateful to see all this come together.

Somehow it's only the end of March and this year has already been unreal. Onwards. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Cannot wait to support Jimmy Baptiste (Atelier Dopamine) as he works his magic for this community art installation!

As part of the Town's Community Support, Multiculturalism, and Antiracism Initiatives (CSMARI) project, we have engaged Jimmy Baptiste of Atelier Dopamine to co-create with the community a mural for the inside of the Visitor Information Centre.

Jimmy will lead us through a workshop on Wednesday, January 31st from 4-6pm at the Visitor Information Centre to collect themes, drawings, poems, words, etc. from us. No formal art training required and stick figure drawings are welcome!

He'll take all of that creative work and then present us with a design on Thursday, February 15th from 4-6pm at the Visitor Information Centre.

The community will be invited to help with the start of the mural during the week of March 4th (details to follow) and Jimmy himself will wrap up the mural through the week of March 11th.

Space is limited to 20 people for the January 31st workshop, so registration is required. Please fill out the registration form to help co-create this piece of art.
