In July Jacob and 7 other Trent students visited Alaska! This program was run with the Trent School of the Environment as students earned credit for GEOG: 3860 Field Research in Geography while away.

Prof Heather Nicol and Prof Douglas Causey of the University of Alaska Anchorage organized a week of exploring for the students with visits to the Anchorage Museum, salmon hatchery, Alutiq Pride Research Lab and the Sea Life Center in Seward, the Alaskan Native Heritage Center, the Forest Services in Portage and much more!

Keep you eyes open as we will be hosting UArctic Day online with Prof Causey next month to hear more about his Arctic biology research as well as a North at Trent seminar with Farm Director Jodie Anderson from the University of Alaska Fairbanks who taught the students about Alaskas unique agricultural production and how the state has adapted with climate shifts.
