We are blessed to be so close to the beautiful Bloomfield 🤩.

Just an 8 minute drive from The Ferg, right between Picton and Wellington, you'll find a charming town where time slows, but character surges. Perfect for a mid-afternoon meandering along a cozy Main Street 🚶‍♀️, filled with adorable shops 🛍 stocked with goodies you won't find anywhere else. If you're looking to settle in for a snack or a meal, Bloomfield also offers some of the tastiest food in the County 🍟🍦. Savor moments of tranquility, and soak in the personality of PEC through one of our favorite nearby gems.

We absolutely LOVE the breakfast at the Lighthouse Restaurant just a few minutes down the road from The Ferg.

While the view of the harbour really gets cooking in the warmer months ☀️, the food and the service are spectacular all year 'round! A great way to kick off an active day in PEC 🏃🏃‍♀️right in the heart of Picton.

A thank you 🙏 to the team Lighthouse Restaurant for the morning fuel ☕️🍳 and always helping us and our guests start with a smile 😁

Blown away by the heat this year? Want to freshen up between beach and date night or girls night out?

Ladies (and men!) we got you covered! Every suite at The Ferg is now equipped with Dyson hairdryers, so that you can hop between beach time to dining out in Picton faster than you can say, “Where shall we eat tonight?”

The Ferg is in fact a 2 minute walk (we totally timed it) from Main street Picton and a short drive from many farm-to-table eats!

We love plants at The Ferg! Nothing freshens up the air and eliminates harmful toxins like PLANTS! Plants increase creativity, reduce stress and eliminate air pollutants.

All our guests enjoy a variation of plants in each Suite at The Ferg. We’ve even included a snake plant in The Loft bedroom to emit oxygen while you sleep!

Refurbished barn remnants - can you spot them? The legacy of the original barn house can be seen in the design details at The Ferg, especially in The Garden Suite.

The original barn wood panels have been repurposed as hardwood flooring and also closet door details!

This past weekend, we got to celebrate Ben's 39th Birthday and as usual, The County was nothing short of a sensational host!

One of the main reasons we moved here - and why we love it more and more each day - is the incredible variety of activities, and the world class food and drink.

Just a few of the highlights from the weekend 😉, and a big thank you to:

for their farm to table 3-course prix fixe lunch and their delicious sparkling blackberry geisenheim
for their impeccable seafood tower and eton mess dessert
for an incredible movie experience (and for layering the butter in our popcorn just how we like it!)
for a beautiful view of Lake Ontario for dinner and lunch. We CAN'T WAIT to return and lounge by this pool
for our favourite Mexican fare and the new delicious items on their menu, including their new Elotes
for their Asado Carne and refreshing brews. Ben loved the Kilted Mouse and Yuzu Pale Ale so much, we brought some home to enjoy!

Thank you Prince Edward County, and our family and friends for helping make Ben's first birthday in PEC a memorable, delicious one.

The County is here to create memorable experiences for everyone! 😊😊😊

Welcome to the Heritage Suite! The two-bedroom suite that makes up the original 1840’s home at The Ferg.

Every piece at The Ferg has a story.

Many of the art pieces you’ll see in The Heritage Suite are curated by or selected from local vintage stores on main street Picton.

We love a great piece of historic art to liven a space and bring interest to a room!

This is definitely one of our favourite laundry spaces! If you look closely behind the custom crafted wood screen, there is a washer and dryer conveniently tucked in the corner of The Loft Suite.

You’ll also now be able to use Tru Earth Laundry strips while on vacation at The Ferg. They are hypoallergenic, eco-friendly liquidless laundry sheets! All True Earth Laundry strips are paraben-free, phosphate-free and readily biodegradable.

Better for our guests and better for the planet.

A bit of that old school vibe right here in Picton! Remember those days when you would go into a large room with many chairs and sit in front of a giant wall that glowed? And everyone would watch the stories that unfolded. 📽️

We love this corner natural light. Just the right amount of natural light flooding into a soft light in the bath space!

The neutral colours and warmth of the Heritage Suite make the perfect palette for some tub time with that rosé or sparkling, candle and book, or your favorite relaxing music (feel free to move our Bluetooth speakers around the suite as needed 😉).

Wanna know a secret? Some of the best hidden local Picton gems are hidden on side streets, residential areas and walkways that look like this!

Picton has rustic, old and new charm, ensuring every visitor has an eclectic adventure.

A little history lesson:

Picton’s built history began in the 1800s and was originally named Hallowell, started by Loyalists from the Thirteen Colonies. Along main street Picton you will find heritage buildings and plaques that will share some of the history of the building and of the building of Picton.

As historian Paul Lockyer says: “The original wooden buildings have been lost to fire or decay, but the brick and stone structures have survived for the most part. Some buildings have been repurposed. The building now occupied by the Bean Counter was once a grain mill.

Across the road, the Gilbert and Lighthall building once housed a coffin-making business, and a trace of that survives with the obituary box on the front facade. The United Church manse has found new life as a boutique hotel, and at the corner of Main and Chapel, the 555 Brewing Company pays tribute to the infamous Lazier murder trial.”

Thought Picton was just a nice looking main strip? Dig into its history, chat with shop owners and wander into side streets and you will discover many new stories to dive into and learn from!
