✨Family fishing time✨

We took our kids and our nephew out for a little salmon fishing this evening.

Scott is his most joyful when he is out on the boat and I love seeing that smile on his face. It doesn’t hurt when we catch a few fish for dinner too. 😉

As most of you know, we stopped offering salmon charters a few years ago as a result of being a little busy in the summer months. We still get emails and calls quite frequently for salmon still and I always feel bad saying "sorry, we no longer offer salmon charters". Well, recently we donated a full day Salmon charter to a fundraising auction for the school our kids go to. This is an online auction and bidding starts tomorrow so here is your chance to get a full day out on the water chasing kings this summer and support a local school.

A few fish from the last few days. It’s been a slow but steady bite so no complaints. Today was an exciting start with 4 rods firing with 2 anglers on board!!!

The bite is slowly picking up and a few good fish are making it to our nets. These lucky anglers should have been in the Rapala Quinte Gold Series! If you will be fishing Quinte this fall sign up. With a $25 entry fee and minimum of $600 as a weekly winner it takes just one bite to make the board.

What a beautiful weekend of fishing and boy is it good to have friends. Saturday morning we head straight to our numbers from Friday. After an hour and a half of slow fishing, a text from Lloyd Daume of U and Me charters had us making a big move to fish his numbers with a pattern he had put together. From there, the fish came pretty steady and we were blessed with flat water and beautiful scenery to enjoy between the fish. Thanks again Lloyd for the hot tip and pattern. Much appreciated.

As a side note, I’ve (Scott) had the lovely good fortune of rupturing my Achilles tendon and will be on crutches (or my trusty peg leg) this fall. My daughter Alaina has stepped up as first mate on weekends, and a good friend will be helping week days. This weekend, I had Alaina on the boat netting fish and helping run rods. It’s a pleasure to have her on the boat.
