It is absolutely fascinating to see how many motor scooters there are in Cambodia & Vietnam. As well, it’s amazing how many people will travel on one scooter (I seen up to 4 people on one scooter)! And what they can carry on a scooter. Wow!

Last night I treated myself to a buggy ride in Ho Chin Minh City. To go from the Opera House to my hotel was a neat experience. If I was traveling with others, it could have been the party bus! 😊

Today Susan, the daughter of Co-Founder, Jimmy Murphy, of AMA Waterways & I took a Sampan ride through the Tra Su Forest in Vietnam. What an incredible morning! I will forever remember our adventure! Great excursion AMA Waterways! I highly recommend it. After the Sampan ride, we took a motor boat deeper into the forest.

This afternoon I had a fabulous time exploring Phnom Penh with Kristin Karst owner of AMA Waterways & Nicole from Travel Weekly, via Tuk Tuk. Rosie from AMA Waterways joined us for a while as well. We stopped at the Rosewood hotel to see the spectacular view of the city! We had a lot of fun with many laughs along the way.

I debated posting this afternoon excursion as it is heartbreaking to comprehend that a genocide happened in my lifetime (not many years ago-1975 to 1979). After visiting the Killing Fields we went to the Dention Center. It was so disturbing to me, that I had to leave. It’s horrific that this happened to the beautiful Cambodian people.

Good morning from the Mekong River in Cambodia. I’m on AMA Waterways AMADara. Right now I’m on my balcony, listening to the most beautiful drum music coming from the banks of the river, as the sun comes up. What an incredible experience! AMA Waterways is simply the best!

I do love Cambodia! Today we left the Sofitel Angkor and lots of the staff came out to wave goodbye. This brought tears to my eyes. Now on 5 hour journey to the Mekong River!

This afternoon I hired a Tuk Tuk driver in Siem Reap, Cambodia to tour me around the city, showing me highlights. What a lovely city!! We made a couple of stops along the way for some shopping! Everything is so reasonably priced in Cambodia. I love Cambodia!! It’s a very safe country to travel around & I felt very safe on my own!

Today I experienced something unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! It was quite moving to walk among the ruins at Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cambodia.

I am in paradise, staying at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, with AMA Waterways. This resort is beautiful! The customer service is exceptional. It’s so peaceful here.

My short stay in Hanoi was interesting. It amazes me how many mopeds there are! It’s a very bustling city. Now I’m off to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

For years I’ve been sending my clients to Sofitel Metropole Legend in Hanoi, Vietnam. Last night I finally got to stay here myself. What a beautiful hotel! It was built in 1901 so it’s steeped in history.

It pays to purchase Premium Protection Plan insurance (only available through a Travel Agent)!

Today my Air Canada flight is delayed so much, I’m going to miss my connection in Seoul, to my final destination.

Manulife is going to cover the cost of a new one way ticket to get me to my final destination & give me $350/day for food & lodging.

This is the reason I always recommend Manulife Insurance!!! Thank you Manulife.

Having a Travel Agent book your trip is a smart idea. This morning I woke up to an email from Air Canada that my flight was delayed & I would miss my connecting flight.

I immediately contacted my sources & within minutes I was rebooked and no stress.

If a person books on their own, they are left trying to deal with the airlines. The airports don’t want to help lately. They say call the airlines. Some airlines won’t even accept calls right now, so that would make it challenging.

I’m so thankful I have my industry contacts that help me immediately.

Here is a great video my client allowed me to post. She took this video last week in Khutzeymateen Provincial Park, BC. Julie’s Travel has a day tour including flight from Edmonton to view the grizzly bears. The scenery is incredible in the Khutzeymateen Valley. I’ve taken this tour so I’m familiar with the area.
