For those of you who have not yet seen it, we're pleased to share that a documentary featuring survivor, Andrea Constand, and renowned physician and author, Gabor Maté, filmed at Linwood House, was recently published on CBC.

In a new documentary by CBC, filmed on location at Linwood House, Gabor Maté supports Andrea Constand along with other survivors in sharing their stories and facilitating discussion around healing. The documentary shares a very powerful message that we're proud to stand behind and be a part of.

Linwood House is honoured to have hosted Gabor Mate and these amazing women for a retreat supporting their strength, courage, and healing.

This past May, Linwood House hosted Vancouver Coastal Health while their health care professionals were working locally at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt. ✨

As we are always looking to give back to the community, as well as support the health care system in any way possible, we were thrilled to receive such kind words from Vancouver Coastal Health regarding their stay at Linwood House, along with the support they received from our team.

This month, Linwood House was honoured to host Andrea Constand and her lovely colleagues for a retreat with local Vancouver wellness teachers Gabor Mate and Shama, all filmed for an upcoming CBC TV Series this fall! 💜

Andrea is the Executive Director and current President of HHT - Hope Healing and Transformation. As an experienced and passionate survivor, Andrea advocates and empowers survivors to find hope, recover from trauma, and begin their journey towards healing.

During her stay at Linwood House, Andrea inspired our entire team, and specifically myself (Mark), through her care and strength of character. Thank you, Andrea! ✨

Through her advocacy and passion to support survivors, Andrea has established a safe space for survivors to transform their trauma into purposeful living and healing.

Although it has been the wettest winter in memory, we're fortunate to have found some moments to enjoy the local trails! 💜

This lovely sunset was captured during our family hike just west of Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park. It overlooks the forests above Wilson Creek, the Straight of Georgia, and Vancouver Island in the distance - the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset! 🌅

To our wonderful guests, be sure to ask us about this trail and add it to your list of to-dos; it'll be an adventure to remember! 🤗

This month, we’re proud to kickstart the holiday season by donating one of our extra Christmas trees, along with 10 boxes of ornaments and decorations to Elphinstone Secondary School! 🎄

Our donations will be used for drama classes, the school play, and other Christmas activities. We’re so glad to have the opportunity to spread the joy and contribute to the holiday festivities at such a wonderful school! 💫

It’s mushroom season!

We have some beautiful Amanita Muscaria’s (Aka. Fly Agaric) growing on our property! 🍄

They add a vibrant element to our laneway, and it’s neat to see this family of mushrooms, among the many others, grow during this time of year. Fun fact: our current concept of Santa Clause and the iconic mushroom in the Super Mario video game series are traced back to the Amanita Muscaria. How fascinating! 🙌🏻

Looking for a new camp this summer? Our sons are running a summer camp for 8-12 year olds on our property here at Linwood House from August 16-20. Our older son is trained in First Aid and has spent hours organizing an itinerary. We’re super excited about this project and hope you are too!
