Farewell Chip Going to miss this guy. One of my favorite horses. Chip and Dale were bought the year Dawson Hallock was born. People can say what they want about horses, but he was one of the good ones. You could talk to him, and he’d listen, almost like he knew what you were thinking. I’ve been lucky enough to have had a few great ones, and he’d be at the top of the list. Lots of memories and miles/trails on him by himself or with him assisting in breaking some others in, horses and people. Even the odd dog. Always remembered the trail, day or pitch black out. Be a hard one to replace for me. As I sit here reflecting on the memories we've shared, my heart swells with both sorrow and gratitude. Chip, our beloved percheron quarter horse cross, wasn't just a member of our team, he was like family for anyone lucky enough to cross his path. With his unmistakable thick mane, Chip captured the hearts of all who laid eyes on him. But it was his gentle soul that truly set him apart. Whether he was pulling a wagon with grace, carrying a saddle and rider with ease, or simply being an example for the young ones, Chip was always there, ready to serve with a kind spirit. His versatility knew no bounds. From seasoned riders to curious newcomers, Chip welcomed each one with open arms (or should I say, hooves). Through every adventure and every challenge, he stood by our side, a steadfast companion through thick and thin. As we bid farewell to our dear friend, I find solace in knowing that Chip's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to approach life with the same grace, humility, and boundless love that he embodied. Rest easy, on to greener pastures old boy.
