On no! Good luck to the rescue team.

We’re aware of an entangled North Atlantic right whale in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The whale, identified as adult male #1271 (Dropcloth), was spotted by our aerial science surveillance team off of Miscou Island, New Brunswick.

Our Marine Mammal Response Program will continue to monitor the situation to determine response options with our partners. If the whale is located again, and weather and sea conditions allow, efforts will be made to attempt disentanglement.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

We were so happy to see them too! A bit later than usual this year.

Finally!!! The Finback whales have returned. We spent time with two Fins on yesterday's whale watch. So happy to see them back.

A pair of fin whales on the area! Second largest whale in the world after the blue whales. Big as the dinosaurs!

We painted a large whale eye on the side of the nine foot deep keel and sometimes the whales come over to have a look!!

You can see the Minke ‘mittens’ which is the white band on the whales pectoral fins. The whale came to us on this foggy morning.

Rare sighting Cyclopterus or blue Lumpfish!! Caught in anchor and released.

Large lions mane jellyfish. Largest one recorded was 7feet wide and with tentacles 120 feet long. They sting so swimmers beware.
