Did you think that Halifax founded earlier?

On this day in 1749, Halifax was founded by Edward Cornwallis.
He arrived in the harbour prior to 2,567 settlers. Work soon began to build to the community.
The Mi'kmaq called Halifax, Kjipuktuk, meaning "Great Harbour".

En ce jour de 1749, Halifax a été fondée par Edward Cornwallis.
Il arriva au port avant 2 567 colons. Les travaux ont rapidement commencé à développer la communauté.
Les Mi'kmaq appelaient Halifax, Kjipuktuk, ce qui signifie « Grand Port ».

While all our hammocks come with great tarps and Flys, I like to bring a couple of 10 x 10 tarps for extra shelters and ground sheets. Here is an easy shelter for them that caught my attention today.

The time has come! We are OPEN for the season as of 3pm today! HUGE thank you to Sargent for reconstructing a massive part of our Riverside Trail and our Tote Road over the last month.

Our bike rental program will kick back off come this weekend, and our Visitor Center will be open seven days a week. Please note that if you are renting one of our bikes, you must wear a helmet!
