Community Matters 🏘️

Today, we pause to reflect on how grateful and proud we are to support our community through Romero House Soup Kitchen. Did you know that Carolyn McNulty founded Romero House the same year Beth Hatt founded ?

Now, both of these incredible organizations are led by the next generation: Carolyn’s daughter Evelyn is steering Romero with love and dedication, while Beth’s daughter Danielle Kelly Timmons and her “daughter-by-heart,” Melanie Jones Colpitts—who joined Aquila at just 16—are making waves in the .

Giving back has always been at the heart of what we do. As the season of giving approaches, we’re sharing a list of the most needed items at Romero House this year—things that will make a real difference for those in need. Since COVID, the demand for meals has tripled, and finding sustainable solutions is more urgent than ever.

Yesterday was a day to remember! 💙 We wrapped up the second part of our emotional intelligence coaching with coachmarilynorr, diving deeper into the insights from our EQ-I reports. Together, we celebrated the best of our team and each individual, shared emotional moments, and explored how to better recognize, understand, and express emotions. Guided by Google's Aristotle Findings, we reflected on the importance of psychological safety in our diverse team and what makes our work truly meaningful.

To cap off the day, we had our team Christmas dinner at Italian by Night, (Yes, we know it’s early, but we just couldn’t wait!) It was a night filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the warmth of being together—a perfect way to end a day focused on growth and gratitude.

We’re grateful to be part of a team built on dependability, clear structure, shared purpose, and meaningful impact. It’s moments like these that remind us why we’re ! Here’s to the magic of our Aquilamazing team and the joy of celebrating each other! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce the very first recipient of ’s Post-Secondary Scholarship: Ben Timmons! 🎓✨

This scholarship is part of Aquila's new initiative to support the children of our full-time Aquila team members. Ben is currently studying Biochemistry at UNB Fredericton, and this scholarship will help him focus on his studies without the added burden of working a part-time job during the school year.

Ben shared his gratitude for this opportunity, and we couldn’t be prouder to play a part in his journey toward success.
