Why Did The ACR Passenger Train Stop? Learn The Truth.

Learn the truth why the 100+ year old ACR passenger train was stopped. Railmark Canada Limited won an RFP and was approved by both CN and Transport Canada to operate the train. The transition was made on May 2, 2015 and ended on July 18, 2015. The City of Sault ste Marie refused to sign a Transport Canada funding agreement that would reimburse the train's costs while it set out on a path of sustainability. The city also refused the funding to go directly to Railmark Canada Limited which it could have under law. The city also turned down a "Month to Month" operating agreement to keep the train running until they could find an operator they liked better. These actions were made public back then but some elected politicians and also people who were not elected, combined and made some bad decisions and actions that resulted in the stoppage of this 100+ year critical train operation that has significantly harmed the economy. Politicians and non-elected decision makers need to be held accountable. The truth will come out.
