Our Legion is doing something amazing this year!
We have a blessing tree at our branch! The tree is loaded with tag ornaments with names of all the residents from both Seaforth Manor and Maplewood Manor and their wish list. We are asking for assistance from the community, to help fulfil the wishes of the residents. Come to the branch and pick a tag off our tree, let the bar tender know which tag or two you have taken, purchase a gift, return it back to the branch in a gift bag by Dec 16th and the Legion will make sure that all bags get delivered to the residents so that they all have a gift to open on Christmas morning โ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ

Santa will be visiting Seaforth this year, but he'll be taking a slightly different parade route thanks to ongoing work downtown.
As crews continue to try and remove a tractor from the ReMax office downtown after an October 13 collision, the local Santa Claus parade will be forced to move one block over.
Cathy Elliott, chair of the Lions Club parade committee, says it wasn't a big deal organizing around, thanks to the help of town staff.
"We had to ask for a road closure, and at that time, the tractor incident hadn't happened," said Elliott. "As soon as it did, I went into Town Hall and said closer to the date, if we need to rejig, let's just get together. As soon as I heard that it was not going to open until the first week in December โ€” our parade's (November) 24th โ€” I just went in and met with the Clerk and Public Works department and we just all put our heads together and worked together beautifully, so yeah, it's going to happen."
Organizers have shifted the route one block over, travelling south along on East William Street, continuing south along Victoria Street to Crombie Street, where floats will then turn east and Elliott says the will have to be strict about parking along this new route.
"The challenge is, that is a narrower street," she said. "Main Street has two lanes plus parking and a lot of people with wee children and the elderly like to sit in their cars to watch. So what we figured was we would have no parking on East William and Victoria Street on the west side. That will leave the east side โ€” with cars facing north โ€” to allow people who need to be seated to do that."
Works staff will put pylons along those streets on the day to keep the west side clear.
The parade will take place on November 24 at 7 p.m.
Santa will also be available to meet with kids at the local legion after the parade.
