We've raised $1,501.25 so far for the "Replace the Horseshoe Bleachers Fundraiser" held on the August Long Weekend here in Seymour Arm! Thank you sooooo much everyone, for getting us a good start at this project. We will keep you posted on it's progress over the year to come.

The prize winners from Sunday's Donation were:

Charlie Voyer who won the Coleman Marine Cooler full of beverages, and Bonnie Mills took home the Louiville Slugger Genesis Williams Bat. Thank you for your donations and congratulations on your wins!

We are continuing to fund raise for this cause throughout the year. E-tsfrs can be sent to: [email protected] .

We welcome anyone to join us for "Sunday Shoes" from 1-4, or if you prefer a more family friendly time, please do not hesitate to use the Horseshoe field anytime at your own liesure.

The Horseshoe area was created by the residents of Seymour Arm decades ago, and is there for everyone to use at any time of the day. There is always a one set of shoes left out but if you need more sets (they are locked up), please see Kevin Brown.

Once again, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED! This $1,501.25 came from cash for the prize draws on the August Long weekend, cash donations throughout the same weekend, cash collected from previous weekly Sunday afternoon games, e-transfers a result of this fundraising weekend, and a few empties collected from the weekend. We will be at Horseshoes on Sundays until the snow flies and will continue to collect the weekly take for the cause (just in case you'd like to toss a few more bucks to the "Replace the Bleachers Fund". We also have an arragement with the Scotch Creek Bottle Depot to accept refundables there on behalf of Horseshoes fundraising here in Seymour Arm. We use the funds to repair or replaice the pits as needed, paint, clean-up and maintenance as needed (like when the trees fall on the tables and on field), etc..

For the extra help promoting, donating, and collecting, too... Thanks!

and hopefully, we can see a bit of funding from SACA and the CSRD, and maybe other groups, down the road, too.

Enjoy the rest of your summer 🏖️ 😎🌞

It's amazing what can done when we all just get it together and do it! Don't be shy. Now if we can just got a little more organized - can you just imagine what can be done!?

Replace the Bleachers Fundraiser

Hi there everyone! Welcome to Seymour Arm. Hope your weekend is spectacular!
Just wondering if you can help our community?
The bleachers at the Horseshoe Pits are unsafe to use and we need a new set. We’d like to get a new set of bleachers like the ones on the baseball diamond side of the park if possible.

Can you spare a $10 donation this weekend for the
Replace the Bleachers Fundraiser ?
Maybe you’ll take home a new Baseball Bat (and maybe a glove, too) or, a new cooler full of cold beverages.

There’s already over 72 wobbly pops in there so far and hoping to collect a few more before the draw time this Sunday at 5 PM by the climbing ropes in the playground at Don Fink Park!
Just right your name and phone # on a piece of paper, then put it and your donation in the jar for the draw this Sunday. You must be present to collect your prize. See you at 5 PM Sunday for the draw.
Thank you for your generosity.
Donations can be made at the The Wheelhouse Pub and from Missy’s Hot Dog Stand by Don Fink Park this weekend (so far).
Donation E-transfers can also be sent to: [email protected]

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• The fire situation in the Shuswap remains stable and cooler weather helps to reduce fire behaviour. The Shuswap Emergency Program continues to be in communication with BC Wildfire, especially for the Mara Mountain (K41070) and Newsome Creek (K41454) wildfires, as these are the closest fires to populated areas.

• Shuswap Emergency Program staff were able to view the the Mara Mountain (K41070) and Newsome Creek (K41454) fires by helicopter late yesterday (July 24) afternoon. They did not observe significant growth on the Newsome fire, we continue to expect visible smoke as temperatures and wind increase.

• For Mara Mountain, Rank 2 and 3 (moderate fire behaviour) was observed in steep terrain inaccessible by ground crews. BCWS continues to indicate there is no threat to surrounding communities. Proactive planning for structure protection continues with the assistance of the Sicamous and Swansea Point Fire Departments.

• For operational updates on any of the Shuswap wildfires, check the information on BC Wildfire Dashboard. For questions, contact the BC Wildfire’s Kamloops Fire Centre Fire Information: 1-250-554-5965.

• The Shuswap Emergency Program is assisting the Golden and Area Emergency Program with the response to wildfire affecting Parson and Nicholson in Electoral Area A (Rural Golden.) For information on this situation, please monitor the Town of Golden website and social media as well as the BC Wildfire Dashboard.

Boaters...

As of May 17th, all boat operators are legally required to pull the drain plug on their vessel to drain all water onto dry land between waterbodies. This order was put into place to contain and prevent the spread of whirling disease and invasive mussels to waterways throughout BC. Additionally, anyone using waterways for fishing, boating, and recreation should clean their equipment of all mud and debris, drain any water, and allow gear to dry for 24 hours before entering new waters. Help stop the spread of invasive species to maintain the health our beautiful aquatic ecosystems! 🌊
