I am Taryn, daughter of Mary Anne, granddaughter of Dorothy, Lillian, Veronica, and Sarah, great-granddaughter of Myrtle, Martha, Susan, and Isabelle. I am blessed to have so many female ancestors before me
, learning their stories has led me into honouring womens’ experience. I dedicate my practice to these women, to my sisters in heaven and on earth, to my aunties and cousins, my nieces and my daughter, and to the mothers of my childhood: those fierce strong women of the North who could make do, work hard, endure, and pull together, and who showed me without a doubt that women have incredible resources within themselves.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics, and worked in biotechnology research. This gives me a solid understanding of science and how research is conducted and written. I trained as a Birth Doula, and as a Postpartum Doula through DONA International, one of the oldest and most recognized doula training organizations. I am grateful for my training through Loss Doulas International, it has prepared me to offer sensitive support to families or individuals experiencing miscarriage, interruption, stillbirth, or infant loss. I am continuously learning and look to share evidence based information as a certified childbirth educator (LCCE) and member of Lamaze International. My hands...
As a mother of four, I have years of personal experience with pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, babywearing, cloth diapering, and the usual challenges of mothering. As a homeschooling mom, I have years of experience juggling schedules and planning for the household along with organizing learning as new little ones joined us. Having an experienced person to witness and support the transition to parenthood, without judgement, strengthens families. As I serve the families before me, I want them to feel supported and strong, and to enjoy health and joy through all the changes.
