SGwaay Pole Conservation Project, 1996. To help restore our mortuary poles, a team of of Gwaii Haanas staff and archaeologists led by Haida experts worked to straighten the poles that stand today.

Sgang Gwaay (Anthony Island). The village, SG̱ang Gwaay Llnagaay (Nan Sdins), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located in a sheltered bay on the east side of the island. Visitors can explore upright and fallen poles, house pits, and standing posts and beams of longhouses.
