April 3-7, 2025 Backcountry Basecamp x Tuft Camps for Endurance Athletes

After an extremely positive experience in January with our Kootenay Camp, we’ve decided to offer another round of backcountry skiing and splitboarding for endurance athletes with .tuft

This will be a small group format deep in the Columbia Mountains, designed give you an immersive backcountry experience. We’ll do big days in big terrain, eat well and repeat. Drop a line if you’re interested, there are five spots left.

Another great week of early season conditions has passed here on the Powder Highway. In the Kootenays, snow depths are about one meter at 1400m and up to 160cm around 1800m. In Rogers Pass, there is roughly 30cm at the RPDC and Mt Fidelity's weather plot at 1900m is showing

Avalanche forecasting boils down to understanding how weather, the snowpack and terrain will interact. Then you add the human element to it. It’s really that simple.

Over the past few years .tuft and I have shared some outstanding adventures travelling through the mountains by bike and ski. We’re excited to share those adventures with you—this winter, we’ve teamed up to offer Backcountry Ski Camps for Endurance Athletes based out of the near Nelson, BC.

These are small group programs (6:2) designed to give a personalized experience where people will get exceptional backcountry skiing and splitboarding and the opportunity to consult with Svein about realizing a more wholistic approach to endurance training.
