Today, we celebrated the unveiling of a newly restored mural in the parking lot, originally created in the 1990s by local artist Bill Dixon.

The mural, which showcases Sooke’s rich heritage, has been brought back to life by artists Diego Navarez and Sooke Tourisms own Shelley Davies, with support from Mosaic Forestry Management and the District of Sooke.

This vibrant piece is a testament to our community’s history and spirit, and we're excited for visitors and locals alike to enjoy it for years to come.

Come see the mural and celebrate Sooke’s heritage!

📍Sooke Basin

In Sooke, September brings cooler nights and warmer ocean temperatures, creating the perfect conditions for morning fog.

This coastal fog forms as moist, warm air from the Pacific meets cooler land, often blanketing the trees and basin before lifting as the day warms.

Sometimes, the fog will spend most of the day rolling in and you can watch as it creeps over the mountains and hills!
