Had another special treat on my dive this morning - Blue Banded Sea Snake.

My new friend on this morning's dive - Blue Banded Sea Snake, fairly venomous but timid, and not very dangerous. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrophis_belc...

I've only ever seen sardines in a can, or maybe in a small heap at the fish market. To see them in the wild by the millions in their own environment is truly overwhelming. Sorry for the video quality, it doesn't near capture the spectacle of the thing, but the general idea is there.

Took a cruise out on the Sound this morning, folks from here and family from Alberta, to sprinkle the grandfather's ashes. Former Navy man, served in the North Atlantic. Grandma was along, 87 years young, right down to the great grand children. It was really moving. What a wonderful group. A real privilege and a pleasure to be able to do that for / with them.

Tied up safe at home dock; No small feat.

10 Days of tours and parties up in the city, ending with quite an eventful and interesting night at the dock at Coal Harbour last night, with someone riding their bicycle off the dock, somewhat inebriated. Fished them and the bike out, all good.

We lost our steering at 10 PM, managed with engine steering, and unfortunately couldn't do our last tour today up to the end of Indian Arm, and were unable to help with a Mayday call for a boat on fire. All ended well there.

I brought the boat home down the sound solo with no steering, just on engines. 1 hr. 40 minutes dock to dock, and tied up home in strong headwind. Very proud of our Crew. Could not have done it without my Son and First Hand, awesome skipper Richard Smallboy, and without my other skipper Martain Lemelin. And of course without Lily Ebrao none of it would be possible!

All of our skills and abilities were challenged, wind, weather, waves and mechanical issues, all handled in ordinary course as though they were nothing.

I'm very proud of our Crew and company. Very impressive. They do us proud without exception.

Thanks All!

Crazy week on the water. Not even a week actually.

Wednesday morning we took the boat up to Vancouver for fireworks. Up at 5, left dock at 8, docked in Van at 1:30. Picked up for fireworks at 5:30. Head didn't hit the pillow till 2 AM.

Saturday morning left Squamish ad 6, did a run up to Granite Falls at the end of Indian Arm with Lily's family, then back to dock to scrub decks and do maintenance and picked up for fireworks at 5:30. 12:30 pillow.

Saturday 8 AM cruise with good friends and family up to Lighthouse Park and Whitecliff.

Two more tours booked this week in Van, (Mon - Thurs still have times available), then tours Fri. and Sat, and back to Squamish Sun.

Hard work, we're exhausted, I have no voice, but what fun~!

Hook us up while we're in the City. Love to have you out!

We've seen lots of aerial battles the last week or so. Good to see that our local falcons are nesting. These are truly magnificent birds to observe. One of our many local treasures.

Hello.

SAS has just been informed that there is a falcon closure beginning today on the Chief.

Here's the info from BC Parks.

“Falcon behaviour suggests a nest has been established in the area above Bellygood Ledge and south of the Black D**e. The area highlighted in orange in the attached photo is closed to climbing and includes the following routes: Damn the Torpedoes, Shaved Bum, Universal Key, Upper Millenium Falcon (above Bellygood Ledge), Gold Medal Ribbon and Upper Stairway to Heaven (“Traverse of the Gods”). Please respect this closure. Upper Black D**e and Bellygood Ledge remain open, but use caution if you encounter falcons and keep your distance. Falcon monitoring will continue and closure will be lifted by July 31, 2014, or earlier if monitoring indicates chicks have left the nest. Please report falcon sightings to BC Parks [email protected] or 604-924-2228. Thanks to those who have already contributed reports!”

We're back in strength for the Summer Season. We were out of the water for 10 weeks to do a MAJOR refit. We upgraded our engines and mechanical, hydraulic, drive systems, cooling and electronics, as well as all of the usual maintenance. We've finished our sea trials, marine survey and inspections, and gone through training on the new systems and with some new crew.

Many thanks to our amazing mechanic and crew for all the hard work. We're all ready to go for the tour season.

Also new this season is the Build Your Own Cruise option. You tell us your numbers, what you want to do, and your budget, and we'll work with you to do all that we can within your budget and time lines.

Our goal is to find a way to give you exactly what you want within your budget and schedule, and make it a trip to remember.

Contact us for more details. We're looking forward to having you aboard!
