Our Story
The Landfall Trust is a registered charity established in 2005 through the legacy of the late Bradley Jacob Folensbee, Jr., (Jake) of Seattle, Washington, who purchased the Landfall property in 1953. Ken Cottage is approximately 200 year old house that sits on the 11 acre property on the outskirts of the Town of Brigus.
The Trust’s Board of Directors serves on a volunteer basis and is supported by an Advisory Committee representing heritage preservation, environmental protection, the visual and literary arts, the surrounding community and its history, finance and fund development, facilities and architecture. All Directors and Advisory Committee members have an association with the community of Brigus and share Jake's vision for the preservation and conservation of Landfall and availing its facilities to individuals and organizations complimenting the arts and humanities.
The Trust is supported by members, donations, the Landfall Press and, when not in use for cultural and heritage activity, the cottage is rented as a pristine and historic artistic and creative retreat; essential activities supporting the Trust’s long-term goal of sustainability.
