With a new Three Pines novel due in October we've started re-reading the series in anticipation. The Old Mansion House plays a creepy role in both these titles as ‘Old Hadley House’, where some scary scenes take place. But of course in real life our lovely home has always been a welcoming place – and we're big fans of Louise Penny!

Probably hard to imagine now but our property was once a small homestead, producing food for residents and guests of the Inn. There's still a clue on the wall of our barn – the calving record of a 'Black Cow', last updated in 1935.

Built in 1889 as a coaching inn, it was called 'Ellerby'. In 2009, it was 'Auberge Georgeville', esteemed for its food and extensive wine cellar - and threatened with demolition to allow redevelopment of the site. Having strong local ties, our family decided to buy it - and the rest is history... Welcome to The Old Mansion House!
