Happy Monday Morning friends!! Stay tuned for the next hosted River Cruise for 2025. I have been saying that I want to travel to places I have never been and that is why I have chosen the upcoming cruise.
A little hint is that the only place I have been to on this cruise is Amsterdam!! You might want to go in a few days ahead of time to explore the Netherlands!

Chilly, rainy days call for refreshing drives to charming greenhouses, like the one near Calmar, where I purchased some plants. After indulging in scrumptious donuts and exploring antique shops at the renowned bakery in Calmar, I made my way to Lee's Family Restaurant for a delightful Chinese meal.

Today, I learned to make perogies from Olga. After buying cheese and sausage at the market, we returned to her kitchen to cook. While it was a lot of work, the perogies were worth it! My family shouldn't expect me to make them anytime soon, though.

At Poland's Wieliczka Salt Mine, we descended 135m below ground using an elevator to bypass the initial 380 stairs. The mine boasts exquisite salt sculptures, underground lakes, and impressive carpentry within nearly 3km of twisting tunnels. I found the experience enlightening and feel lucky to have visited.

Today’s food in Krakow. Huge cabbage rolls for dinner!! Lunch consisted of small beer, pork chop, fried potatoes and sauerkraut!! I feel like a stuffed cabbage roll tonight. lol

During our journey from Regensburg to Prague, I was able to obtain tickets to the bronze medal game between Canada and Sweden. Unfortunately, we did not win, but the experience was truly remarkable!!

We have a wonderful group from Spruce Grove and Slave Lake on our hosted Danube Cruise on the Emerald Star. Julie and I hosted a cocktail party and had an upfront view of the ship going through yet another lock.

We have traversed numerous locks on the Danube thus far. This particular lock was encountered during daylight hours. The mechanism behind its functioning is truly captivating.

Do you take a "first aid" kit with you when you travel? Here is what I have in mine besides my prescribed medications.

Tylenol/Advil, Benadryl, gravol, ginger gravol, tums, immodium, resoralax, bandaids and liquid IV (electrolyte drink mix).

Effective 24Apr, you are no longer able to choose your seat free of charge during the online check-in process - it is now assigned by the airline (hello dreaded middle seat!) 😱

If you want to switch, you must pay a fee to do so. And a word of warning: once you select your new seat and move to the next screen, you will automatically be charged. There’s no way to cancel or go back…if you don't pay online, you will have to pay at the gate

This fee does *not* apply to Aeroplan members with Super Elite Status, but does apply to bookings made prior to 24Apr

With everything happening in travel nowadays you are crazy to not take insurance. Did you know that interruption insurance is very valuable. I remember getting stuck in Amsterdam due to a last minute strike with the baggage handlers. The airline didn't even give us close enough funds for a hotel and extras since they already had our luggage. Thankfully I had insurance that covered my hotel, meals, clothes & toiletries and a new flight home.

If you don't want cancellation insurance and you understand the risk of not getting any money back for your trip. Don't leave home without medical and interruption insurance.
