***POWDER ALERT*** 17cm (over 6 inches) of fresh champagne powder fell overnight, 21cm (over 8”) over the last 48 hours, making for an incredible day on the slopes today. TREE WELLS & ALL MOUNTAIN SAFETY
An absolute must do, one day course for all skiers and snowboarders who venture off of groomed runs. Learn about how tree wells form, safe riding in the trees, what to do if you fall in a tree well and how to rescue someone. Additionally, this course will introduce you to often overlooked hazards that require "making good choices", such as RESPECTING THE SKI AREA BOUNDARY, what to do if you get lost, cold exposure, variable snow conditions and more.

Daily 9:30am - 3:30pm

Sincerely hoping for a positive outcome here. This is the third search & rescue callout to the West Bowl since opening weekend, and thankfully the first two situations had a happy ending. If anyone recalls seeing this gentleman in the West Bowl area on December 10th, please report your sighting immediately.

While we don't know what happened in this circumstance, we implore everyone to please follow the signage and stay in bounds - there is so much amazing terrain to explore and enjoy within bounds, both groomed and off-piste, and we want everyone to get home safe to their loved ones!

The search is ongoing for a missing skier at Sun Peaks Resort. Police (RCMP), Kamloops Search & Rescue, and the Resort are asking for the public’s help in locating the skier, last seen on Tuesday at the West Bowl chairlift.

RCMP are leading this missing person case, with support from Kamloops Search & Rescue and other BC-based Search & Rescue teams, and Sun Peaks Resort operations teams. Aerial search efforts have been deployed, including helicopter and drones, in addition to ground search teams.

Anyone with information on Mr. Tomasz Jaholkowski that may be related to his potential whereabouts, including possible sightings on-mountain on December 10, should contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800.

Our thoughts are with Mr. Jaholkowski’s loved ones as the search for his whereabouts continues.
