Take in a truly magical holiday experience at Victorian Christmas Evening Saturday from 4-7pm. Take photos with Father Christmas in the pole barn, be entertained by The Re-enactors and take in the beautiful harp music of Leanne Page in the parlour.

A Celtic harpist and classically trained singer, Leanne Page is a passionate musician who is enchanted both by the rich and ancient history of the harp and by its magical voice. Her performances reflect her love for a variety of genres from classical to sacred to popular, yet she is continually drawn to traditional music because of its deep connection to the land, its people and its lore. Leanne currently devotes her time to the study of Irish traditional harping and therapeutic music practice. She plays and sings in many spectacular and diverse venues.

In this workshop series, Kristine Hui, a professional distiller and fermentation specialist, will lead you through four unique sessions on how to make kimchi, kombucha, lacto-fermented fruits and hot sauce. When: Each Thursday evening in February (6, 13, 20, 27)
Where: In Stewart Hall at Historic Stewart Farm
Cost: $194 which includes four class, ten hours of instruction, all food and supplies and everything you take home

Looking for a free, local Christmas activity with the family this weekend? Our Christmas Weekend Drop-Ins officially begin Saturday! Drop in either day this weekend from noon to 4:30pm to tour the rustically decorated farmhouse, enjoy refreshments and watch some heritage demonstrations. With a Deck the Halls theme this weekend, also explore the types of homemade decorations that Victorians made for the holidays and make your own traditional paper ornament to take home.

Harvest Fair is coming up on Saturday, September 21st! Bring the family to Elgin Heritage Park for live performances, a vendor market, food trucks, photo ops, cedar weaving and much more. Hosted by Historic Stewart Farm and Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House.

Silent Film Night, Romantic Comedies edition, is coming up on Friday, April 12th at 7pm. Two classics are on the list! First up is The Doll (Die Puppe), a German romantic fantasy comedy. In the film, the character Lancelot is pressured by his Baron uncle to marry. But Lancelot is afraid of women! He decides to fool his uncle by marrying a life-like mechanical doll instead. The Scarecrow, circa 1920 will follow. The American two-reel silent film stars Buster Keaton who plays a farmhand who competes with his housemate to win the love of the farmer's daughter. $12.06/ person.
