National Cuban Sandwich Day, honors the beloved Cuban sandwich, a delicious blend of flavors and cultures. Its origins are hotly debated between Tampa and Miami, two cities with rich Cuban heritage. In Tampa, the sandwich traditionally includes salami. In contrast, the Miami version typically sticks to the classic ingredients of roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on Cuban bread.
