Did you know The town of Sussex is seeking to commission two new site-specific murals that will be created in the summer/fall of 2024 and will remain on public display for 5-10 years. These two new dynamic pieces of art will connect and engage with the community, transforming the sites into vibrant, inviting and meaningful public places.

Eligible artists are invited to submit expressions of interest and qualifications to this call to AX, the Arts and Culture Centre of Sussex, who are working with the town on this important project.

The commissioned artists will be selected through an open, two-stage process. The project budget of $22,000 CAD (inclusive of all taxes) and $11,000 CAD (inclusive of all taxes) respectively includes all costs directly associated with the artwork: including taxes, artist fees, production, materials, equipment rental, installation, and other professional services, accommodations, insurance, WorkSafe fee, travel and other incidental and production expenses.

No fewer than 4 artists will be shortlisted and each paid $500 CAD (inclusive of all taxes) to create detailed proposals.

It’s been a great music week on Main Street! Our weekly Wednesday Open Mic Night was 🔥 Last night Gary Morris played an awesome set at the car show and got the patio warmed up for a fun night with Jacob Chevarie Music and TONIGHT we’re going to have a time with legend Keith Facey!

It’s great to see downtown Sussex really come alive in the summer. We’ve got a beautiful little town and it’s wonderful to see locals and visitors enjoying it all.

We’re open today Noon until 10pm. Coolers are full, slushie machine is whirling, and good times are pouring!

Here is a map of the skill hill just 20 minutes away, close enough to have fun, but far enough away the lights won’t bother you !

We want to share some behind the scenes information with you about our snowmaking capabilities across the mountain ❄️😎

Here is a map of the areas we are able to make snow when the air temperature and humidity are right. It's all about the wet bulb temperature.

This has been one of our biggest snowmaking seasons to date with natural snowfall being limited as we can all see from the landscape surrounding Poley 🫣🌲🌳

Check out the map to see which areas of the mountain require natural snowfall.

The trails that we are able to make snow on are the ones that are open at this time. We will continue to monitor the conditions in the snowmaking areas and consider making more artificial snow if needed 💪 but that doesn't influence the areas that simply need mother nature ❄️🤞

The Alpine Chairlift will be opening Saturday morning to reduce waiting times at the Quad Chairlift this weekend ✌️

Sundays 12 to 6 are the days that our market booths are open - we have crafts, pickles and collectibles, some vintage clothing and costumes , little trading library - we have one beach shack available for rent for small gathering or a rest stop off the trails ( we are just off the Liston settlement and 3409 trail at 520 markhamville road .

The riding is beautiful and we have the perfect place that sleeps six, hot tub, pool table , campfire and full size kitchen, and living room and two baths, drive from the yard onto the trails. Why squeeze into a little cabin when you can have a three bedroom house For the night or week end !
