Margaret’s Peru Adventure- Day 6

A beautiful morning for a walk around Cusco and a little market shopping before we flew back to Lima for the night. Didn’t get to spend much time in Lima but we did do a little walk along the boardwalk after dinner…and I guess this means I have to come back 😎
Peru is a country filled with culture, customs, kind/grateful people…and some really big hills 😂 I have had the fortune to travel to many great places in this world of ours, and this one has me leaving with a sense of gratitude and joy 💜 Tomorrow the adventure ends as we travel back to Canada 🇨🇦

Margaret’s Peru Adventure - Day 5

Friday was another incredible day, as we actually got to visit the Machu Picchu ruins site for a 4 hour tour. Our amazing and knowledgeable guide Winny enhanced the experience, is standing on the site wasn’t amazing enough! WOW!
I will say my legs weren’t so happy about the climbing up down and all around after hiking the trail the day before…but it was to wonderful to missing a moment! Then it was time to head back to Cusco, first taking the train from Ollyantambo and then the bus. Once we checked into our hotel it as dinner and a stroll to see some of the area lite up at night. A full day with lots of great laughs. Until tomorrow…

Margaret’s Peru Adventure -Day 4

Today was not just any Thursday. Today was the day we hiked the One day (13km) Inca Trail from kilometer 104 into Machu Picchu. Some might say “too bad it was cloudy and rainy”…but the weather kept the temperature perfect !And just after leaving Sun Gate to make our way to the “main event” the sun came out and it was AMAZING ❣️

Margaret’s Peru Adventure Day 3

The morning began with a visit to Pisac (Arqueological site). This was an amazing site to do our first warmup hike for the “big show” tomorrow. This hike took us to 3900 meters above sea level…and what a view!
Than off to the Potato farm and welcomed with a flower pedal blessing before learning about the 900 varaties of one of my favourite foods…the potatoe. And were treated to a weaving demonstration.
Parwa project for lunch…where I saw a hummingbird (no photo sadly)…but I did taste the local deliciously (I’ll let you figure it out)
Then off to our last challenge of the day, the many stairs (300) at the ruins site at Ollantaytambo. This was the site build by the most famous Inca, #9.
Just another perfect day in Peru ❣️

Margaret’s Peru Adventure 😎
Arrived in Lima late on Day 1 but we will get back there at the end of the tour.
Day 2- Flew from Lima to Cusco and started our journey to visit 2 amazing sites. First was Moray located at 3500 meters above sea level. These Inca ruins are a marval. And then we headed to Maras the salt pans. There were a few other photo stops and plus my snapping pics through the window. Honestly you just can’t capture the beauty in the mountains. We are spending the next 2 nights in Urubamba, located in the Sacred Valley.
