Why pay for travel insurance? Don't we already have insurance through our credit cards? Doesn't OHIP cover medical costs?

UPDATE; anyone from Ontario planning/taking a trip out of the country since January 1st, OHIP no longer provides coverage outside of Canada.

When you don't consider purchasing Travel Insurance, you risk your life savings and it can be a nightmare.

Did you know Credit Card coverage can be very restrictive and have lots of exclusions? It’s important to check over the policy, read the fine print and ensure you know your coverage.

Those fortunate enough to have coverage through extended workplace benefits may find out it covers only emergency medical in destination, but not related expenses, or cancellation.

Travel insurance is for the unexpected and not just medical - think flight delays/cancellations, lost or damaged bags, etc. What about Trip Interruption? If you are called home in the middle of your vacation for an emergency.

Have piece of mind while on vacation.
