It really is about the small habits. The smallest things usually make the biggest impact.⁠

Think through all of these points and decide what is serving you and what is not. ⁠

Try some small changes:⁠

💫Don't look at your phone first thing in the morning. The news and your e-mail can wait. A postive morning routine sets the stage for your day. Start it positive and with JOY. Coffee, meditation, postive thoughts, a nourishing breakfast that's not rushed.⁠

💫POSITIVE self talk. Try it⁠. You are your thoughts so watch what you say to yourself.

💫Ditch the news and social for long periods. Remember the news is a business, they want you coming back for more. Having said that, I also do respect what is going on in the world right now... and completely disconnecting may not be an option for some. Maybe grab a good book that will draw you in. S**t... sure! Or something that provides meaningful action steps to actually improve something in your life. If you need any good reads on this... I have a list! Or listen to a podcast. Something that bring you JOY!⁠

💫Beware WHO you share your energy with. Are they lifting you up, or dragging you down? Do they support you?⁠ Do they support the life you're trying to create?

And remember physical health is DIRECTLY related to mental health. They are fundamentally linked, NOT 2 separte entities. ⁠

"Mental and Emotional Release® Therapy (MER) is a clinically researched approach to help you release stress, anxiety, fear and other negative emotions. The MER model has become widely known as the most effective method for creating quick, lasting change for an individual."⁠

MER is adapted from Timeline Therapy (created by the amazing Tad James). Your "timeline" is how you unconsciously store memories and with MER, you can travel back on your timeline to release beliefs, emotions or anxiety at the root cause (the initial sensitizing event). ⁠

There is no "re-living" any traumatic event. Your unconscious mind allows you to retrieve the learnings that were supposed to be gained from that event, release the baggage and change the story. ⁠

I was so fortunate to have learned this technique in my NLP training with . It is such a powerful tool and was pretty life changing for me personally. ⁠

It is a technique that I use the most in my coaching practice. Combining MER with clinical hypnosis has been extremely effective in creating quick, lasting change for people.⁠

People don't change consciously. Behavioural change takes place at the unconscious level. And that's where MER and Clinical Hypnosis come in. ⁠

💫Change and growth involves shedding your old thoughts, beliefs and maybe even your whole identity (or the identity you gave yourself). ⁠

Sound scary? Well, it doesn't have to be. It may be uncomfortable because humans and their unconscious minds love to be comfortable and secure. But it doesn't have to be scary. ⁠

Change isn't just about embracing the unknown, it's really about changing your habits and beliefs. You have to actively embody the person you want to become. ⁠

⁠Your unconscious mind wants you to stay the same. After all, it's job is to keep you safe and anything new or unknown could be threatening.

So, if you're always:⁠

⏩thinking the same thoughts (that wont' work, it's too late, it never works out)⁠
⏩believing the same beliefs (I'm not good enough, smart enough, people will judge me) and ⁠
⏩using all of the familiar emotions (anger, fear, resentment)⁠

you will talk yourself out of greatness. Your thoughts and feelings have that much power. ⁠

So what can you do? Well Dr. Joe Dispenza said it perfectly:⁠

Happy Family Day!💕

This is my little family. We are the 3 amigos, 3 musketeers or the 3 stooges (depending on the day and who you ask! lol)

We don't celebrate just being a family enough. I appreciate these 2 humans more than they know. After all, they put up with my poor hearing, bad jokes and crazy ideas every single day!

It is not perfect. We've had our struggles, arguments, sadness and heartbreak. But we don't strive for perfection, just improvment and happiness.

I celebrate all of my family today! Blood and non blood (you know who you are!!). And I also celebrate those not physically present with us anymore.

I have just completed the Mind Surgery Method .co with the amazing

Over the past 5 months, I have been in a group with some amazing humans learning about NLP and Mental and Emotional Release (MER) and how to integrate these into our coaching programs. Although the Mind Surgery Method is not about how to become a coach (you have to be one already 😉), I do feel that it has made me a better one for my clients. I would highly recommend this cours (it's more like a Mastermind) to any coach/nutritionist out there and I would be happy to chat about it if you have and questions! Send me a DM 😊

I also was immersed in Clinical Hypnosis through the University of Toronto. My weekends were packed and a lot of zoom time, but totally worth it! I am now a Certified Clinical Hypnotist and have been personally hypnotized about 30 times! Clinical hypnosis is all about change work and accessing the subconscious mind...NOT about quacking like a duck! lol

These two programs meshed perfectly together for me and were life changing! I ditched some limiting beliefs that no longer served me, cleared some negative emotions, changed annoying habits and destructive patterns and increased my self-confidence and self-worth to levels I did not think possible.

Sauerkraut is fermented cabbage and is a staple in our household! I eat it EVERYDAY! I aim for 1TBSP at dinner time, but this is usally 2 or 3 😋

Cabbage alone is a superfood as it is high in nutrients and high in pre-biotic fibre (which feeds your good gut microbes). It is part of the cruciferous family which is amazing for gut, liver and hormone health!

Could this superfood be even healthier? YEP! Fermentation is one of the rare examples of food processing that actually makes it healthier! It breeds new microbes, transforms fibre and generates bioactive peptides and polyphenols (powerful antioxidants).

This is a quote attributed to the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates nearly 2500 years ago! Well he wasn't far off.⁠

Your gut houses trillions of bacteria (also yeasts, parasites, viruses, and archaea), collectively known as your gut flora.⁠

While some of these bacteria are beneficial, others are not.⁠

Everything you eat, drink or are exposed to (toxins) either feed your good microbes to promote health or grown your pathogenic microbes to feed ill health, inflammation and imbalance. ⁠

Your gut bacteria and the integrity of your gut lining strongly affect your health. Your microbiome is directly intertwined with immunity, metabolism, HORMONAL BALANCE, cognition and gene expression. You're pretty much walking bacteria and they control the entire show!⁠

I'm not always a fan of supplements.

Yes, they have a place but I think they're overused. There, I said it! Sorry Dr. OZ!

I have seen so many that are supplement junkies and rely on them to fix all of their issues. Don't get me wrong, they can be powerful and I do use them with my clients. We just don't rely on them for the quick-fix or the miracle cure.

Taking too many supplements can actually work against you and your goals. Your liver is your detox powerhouse and super important for hormonal balance. If it's congested and busy processing 15 supplements, then it becomes too sluggish to do it's job.

In my health protocols, I focus on a whole-body, whole-food approach that is plant powered. Your system is complex with a lot of moving parts, so we always need to start with the root cause, build a solid foundation and then work our way up. This always starts with gut health!😉

The best results I see with my clients are the ones that really embrace that whole-body approach. We work on nutrition, lifestyle, stress-management, mindset and TARGETED supplements when needed. 💫I know I know, you've heard it before....you need to eat more FIBRE! 🥦

But did you know that it's SUPER important for your hormonal health, not just so you p**p better! 💩

Benefits of Fibre for your hormones:

⭐Removal of excess estrogen: when the liver breaks down estrogen, it is sent to the colon for removal. So more p**ping = more estrogen removal. Too much estrogen can wreak havoc on your hormonal health. If you have too much estrogen (PMS, headaches, heavy periods) then get the fibre going!

⭐Blood sugar balance: Combining fibre with protein and healthy fats at every meal not only helps you to feel satiated, but also helps with blood sugar stability. If you're on the blood sugar roller coaster, your hormones are along for the ride!!

⭐Provide PREBIOTICS: (different than probiotics) these are types of dietary fiber that feed the friendly bacteria in your gut. You wants lots of friends! Too many pathogenic microbes in the gut (dysbiosis) can block detoxfication pathways in the liver and inhibit proper elimination of excess hormones. Gut health is crucial to hormonal balance!

So, how much is enough? I usually tell my clients to aim for 30 grams per day. But everyone is different😉 You may need more!

You should include fibre at every meal and snack. Here's how:

🥦Dark and colourful veggies: beets, kale, cabbage, arugula, Brussels sprouts, bok choy, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, and radishes

🍲WHOLE grains: brown, wild, or forbidden (black) rice; quinoa; oats; and buckwheat

🌱Nuts and seeds: chia, flax, pumpkin, sesame, and sunflower, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, and cashews

😋Beans: black, pinto, kidney, and garbanzo

🍎Fruits: blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears, pineapple

💕Your hormones are not the same from day to day.

They ebb and flow throughout the 4 phases of your cycle and require different nutrients at different time to keep your cycle running in tip-top shape!

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but something to get you started on your journey with cycle syncing😃

🔴MENSTRUAL: Your hormones are the lowest. Certain nutrients like iron, zinc, and B12 are important to replenish those lost in the blood, to manage or prevent symptoms, and to nourish your body.

💮FOLLICULAR: These low levels of hormones signal the pituitary gland to release Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH stimulates the ovaries to form follicles (which produces an egg) in preparation for ovulation.🥚 Opt for foods like broccoli, lentils and avocados to support estrogen metabolism and gut health.

🥚OVULATORY: Estrogen is on the rise! This signals the pituitary to release luteinizing hormone hormone (LH). LH causes that dominant follicle to grow fast and discharges an EGG! 🥚 ⁠When the egg releases... VOILA, ovulation! Grab some raw veggies, sunflower seeds and pineapple to support estrogen detox and progesterone production.

🍑LUTEAL: In the first half of your luteal phase you may still feel pretty good, but a sudden drop in hormones (or imbalances) can be behind those PMS symptoms. Include naturally sweet foods like peaches, slow carbs combined with protein and healthy fats to curb cravings, and walnuts or wild caught salmon for a boost of OMEGA 3's.

You can ABSOLUTELY eat any of these foods at anytime in your cycle. But, if you're striving for hormonal balance and ditching those symptoms, syncing specific nutrients and foods with your cycle is a great place to start!
