Covid-19 Precautions: We are very careful about providing a saf

e environment and have implemented a strict cleaning policy to disinfect as much as possible and especially frequently touched surfaces prior to each visitor. This includes tables, doork***s and locks, light switches, counter tops, toaster handles, desks, dock furniture, toilets, faucets, coffee maker buttons, and even BBQ k***s. We were fully booked all summer and fall for the past 20 months with no reported virus incidents. Four key features to look for in a Muskoka cottage rental (hint: we offer all four!):

1/ Exposure - Southwest exposures offering full sun right to sunset and fewer bugs (as the southwest prevailing winds blow them off the dock).

2/ Location - many cottage renters hide the fact that their cottage is located on an unassumed, pot-holed road, many kilometres from the nearest town. A cottage on a town-maintained, paved road, that is close to town offers ultimate convenience.

3/ Vista - a cottage with sweeping vistas, especially from on high, can be a glorious way to enjoy Muskoka Lakes.

4/ Privacy - Experienced cottagers know that a rental scenario is best enjoyed when you don't have tiny cottage lots with noisy neighbours all jammed together in a congested area, where guests are forced to listen to each others conversations and music. This wonderful Muskoka property, located on pristine Muldrew Lake, (5 minutes from Gravenhurst, in the heart of Muskoka), offers a unique blend of nature, vistas, location, an ideal exposure, comfort and privacy. Come and enjoy the fresh air, colours, peacefulness and nature that Muskoka offers! To avoid disappointment, book early to reserve your preferred time slot. For the 2 most popular summer months, July & August, our rental weeks run from Saturday 3 pm until the following Saturday at noon. (Sometimes we vary from that plan to accommodate our guests.) Welcome to your ideal Muskoka cottage Sanctuary! Wake up in the morning to your favorite beverage and book and head down to the dock for sunrise and a connection with nature that will clear your mind and rejuvenate your soul. Stay connected to your family and friends in our fully-equipped kitchen with plenty of counter space for prepping or serving that next great meal. Enjoy a family movie in the large living room with indoor fireplace and luxurious leather sofas. Sun sets from the dock are amazing. Guests enjoy relaxing on the dock with a chilled glass of wine while the sun goes down at the end of a magical day. You might want to take a leap off the jumping rocks, situated a short swim from our dock. Relax in our screened-in gazebo (beside the fire pit); a great place for evening conversations, board games and family bonding. One side of the expansive lot offers a breathtaking view of the lake from on high above the jumping cliff. At the end of your day, kicking back under the stars by a roaring bon fire redefines the word relaxation. Music and conversations never sounded so full. Cottage - information & rental details

General info:

Our cottage lot is unusually large (3 acres!) with 600 feet of frontage (joined by a 66 foot right of way). This offers extraordinary privacy from the neighbours on both sides. From anywhere on our property, only one other cottage is visible. Our cottage renovations continue and the improvements are significant. We recently completed installation of a new shower in the bathroom. We have brightened the entire cottage interior by painting it white, added new flooring throughout the entire cottage, and updated the living room furniture. In the kitchen, we have added a new fridge, a new counter top and faucet, a dishwasher and we ceramic tiled the floor. For the outdoor patio, we've added a nice cast iron dining suite to allow family meals on the lake-facing deck. The spacious living room features a wood-burning fireplace (wood is provided), an entertainment centre with TV & DVD player, an assortment of movies and games. We provide free internet for the prime months of the summer (July and August). We have a sizable main dock (20' x 10') that acts as the foundation for our 8' x 20' floating dock, providing plenty of space to relax on what most people refer to as the most crucial living space at a cottage. Welcoming hosta-lined granite steps wind their way down to the dock and waterfront area. Our cottage is a cozy 4-bedroom family cottage decorated with cottage appeal. The dining room, living room and kitchen comprise the main communal living area and we have two exits to Muskoka and our sunny decks. The bedrooms are comfortable and well-sized (even though cottagers don’t generally spend much time in them). There are four bedrooms, two of which have two single beds (singles can be moved together into one king sized bed), one bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a bunk bed (with two singles). There is electric heating in all rooms and a working fireplace in the living room. We also have a ceiling fan in the living room to keep you cool on those warmer days. Our main deck overlooks Muldrew Lake and, with perfect southwest exposure, our spectacular sunsets are best enjoyed from the dock (wine is optional). The upper deck, with it's Napoleon BBQ, offers a great locale for family gatherings and making meals outdoors. The screened in gazebo offers a welcome relaxation spot popular with gamers, bonfire watchers or outdoor readers. There is a small rowboat, popular with those who like to fish. Muldrew Lake offers mostly small and large-mouthed bass, pan fish (sunfish & rock bass), catfish and the occasional, but elusive pike. Have fun on the water with our canoe or two kayaks (with paddles) or our rowboat with oars. If you are planning on bringing or renting a boat, there's plenty of room to park your boat on our floating dock, (see rental contact below). There is a shallow, gently-sloped sandy area for the little ones and deep water off the main dock. In the summer, the lake is very much enjoyed by boaters on the weekends, and on Sunday night as the rush to get back to the city begins, a peaceful hush descends on the lake and the beauty of the surrounding nature and wildlife really comes out. What to do in Muskoka? The cottage is approximately 5 km from Gravenhurst. Bala is only a 15 min. drive, and Bracebridge is about a 20 minute drive. For the summer months in Gravenhurst, you can enjoy the Wednesday morning Farmers’ Market, visit artists’ studios, shop or enjoy the various events that occur throughout the year such as the Antique and Classic Boat Show and Dockside Festival of the Arts at the Muskoka Wharf (in Gravenhurst Bay). The highly touted Muskoka Bay Golf Club is only 1.5 km's away and Taboo Resort and Golf Club offers the finest in dining and the links, only a 10 minute drive. If you have a boat, you could pop it into Lake Muskoka at the free boat launch, just 5 km down the road and explore the big lakes. Go for a sail on the RMS Sequin or Wenonah steamships and experience Muskoka’s history and breath-taking scenery. There are excellent walking/riding trails and tennis and pickleball courts nearby. See historic Bethune House, the Torrence Barrens Dark Sky Preserve or the High Falls in Bracebridge. For mountain bikers, it's a short 2 km ride (west) to one of the most challenging trails, the Old Stone Trail; or head to the professional course in Bracebridge. For serious athletes, there are a number of adult and kids cycling and triathlon events throughout the summer. Specifics:
