❗️WEDNESDAY IS THE BIG DAY❗️

This coming Wednesday, June 25 @ 12 PM (Toronto time), we begin accepting reservations for the first of our 2026 trips: DOMINICA!

It is unspoiled beauty, preserved culture, a hiker’s paradise and a diver’s dream. It is the trailhead to adventure and discovery, unlike any other Caribbean destination. Its volcanic peaks shoot out of the sea, its boiling waters and underwater champagne springs creating mystique for adventure travellers. It is a rush of sparkling waterfalls, gushing streams and rainforest canopies. It’s a celebration of music, art and flowers and home to two endemic species of parrots, the Sisserou and the Jaco, found nowhere else in the world.

The natural beauty of this 26 million year old island makes for a varied hiking program. Some days will have us hiking through pristine rainforest, and on other days we will be challenged by the solitude and natural beauty of Morne Trois Pitons National Park. In addition, we’ll be doing 3 segments of the Waitukubuli National Trail.

We know you will absolutely love it!

Mark your calendars for this Wednesday and we look forward to having you join us.

THE LAST SUPPER!
(Ireland Holiday)

We have enjoyed many fine meals over the course of our trip, and tonight was no exception!

In keeping with tradition, our final group dinner is at Bloom Restaurant, where we have been going annually since our very first visit back in 2010!

Páraic and his staff always pamper us with a delicious dinner and great atmosphere. A fitting finale to a wonder Irish holiday!

THE GRAND FINALE!
(Ireland Holiday)

A hiking trip to Ireland would not be complete without a coastal hike, so we saved one of the best for last!

We enjoyed a loop hike around the fishing village of Howth. This hike not only takes in the gorgeous views of Irish Sea, but it also features the majestic Bailey lighthouse - built in 1814 and standing 134 feet (41m) above high water. Strangely, it disappeared in the fog but made an appearance later on the hike.

Our lunch spot right by the beach was specially chosen to allow us to dip our toes in the Irish Sea, without having to commit to a full swim! 😆

And what better way to bid farewell to Ireland than with another celebratory refreshment at a traditional Irish pub?!

DUBLIN ROCKS! 🤘

I (Robert) have been coming to Dublin every June since 2010, and you know what? It never gets old!

That’s because Dublin is a great city, offering something for everyone - history, culture, museums, music, great restaurants and shopping. Additionally, it’s a compact city, therefore making it very easy to walk from one sight to another.

I spent the free day exploring town, taking in a little Oscar Wilde, Trinity College, the National Gallery and Grafton Street.

Here’s a sample of just some of the wonderful things I saw!

GLORIOUS GLENDALOUGH
(Ireland Holiday)

Our hike setting today - Glendalough National Park, just outside Dublin.

And what an incredible hike it was! This gorgeous loop provides some of the best views on our trip so far, as we looked down upon the upper & lower lakes - and many times we had the trail all to ourselves!

We may have worked hard today, but the rewards were certainly worth it.

GREAT “CRAIC” WAS HAD BY ALL!
(Ireland Holiday)

We celebrated our arrival in Dublin today, with a traditional Irish House Party! Featuring Irish music and dancing, this foot-stomping evening left a smile on all our faces.

The entertainers were particularly funny and lively, adding to our “CRAIC” 😁

CONQUERED ANOTHER GAP 💪
(Ireland Holiday)

After hiking the Gap of Dunloe on Thursday, we felt ready to tackle another “Gap”. This time we hiked through the Windy Gap, which featured panoramic views towards the Di**le Peninsula, as well as the surrounding valleys and lakes.

This picturesque trail is as scenic as it is private, as we virtually had it all to ourselves all day long. We also made sure to take a photo of the proud “Irish” dads in our group!

Our hike concluded with a stop at the Red Fox Inn for a post hike refreshment, making it a most perfect finale to our Killarney portion of our trip.

A WHISKEY WATERFALL!
(Ireland Holiday)

The beautiful trail through Tomies Woods was the setting for our hike today, where we were treated to views of Killarney town, Ross Castle and the lower lake.

Our lunch spot at the water’s edge also happened to be next to O’Sullivan’s Cascade - a bustling waterfall at the heart of Tomies Wood. According to legend, O’Sullivan’s Cascade once flowed with whiskey – not water. However, the whiskey turned to plain water once the British invaded! 😁

The conclusion of our hike was the Dunloe Hotel - a 5-star resort with an incredible lobby (see photo) and the perfect spot for a celebratory refreshment.

A STROLL THROUGH KILLARNEY
(Ireland Holiday)

One of the prettiest and most popular towns in southwest Ireland is Killarney. Not only for its perfect location adjacent to Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry, but also for its quaint shops, loads of pubs, delicious restaurants and old world charm.

So what does your trusted guide do on the day off? Why explore and photograph this little gem of a town, while discovering different little streets to get lost on.

And a little cafe au lait for energy!

THE GAP!
(Ireland Holiday)

One of the most popular sites to visit in Killarney is the famous Gap of Dunloe.

The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass forged between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Purple Mountain by glacial flows, and the very best way to appreciate it is on foot! The lead up to the Gap had us hiking the gorgeous “Black Valley”, while the stunning views towards the Gap is only matched by the trail that descends towards it - 5 lakes, several small bridges and huge rock formations are all featured on this hike!

And, of course, this being Ireland we concluded our trek at a famous local pub where we toasted a successful and beautiful day.

LET ME INTRODUCE TO YOU…
(Ireland holiday)

Given that it’s our first hike of the trip, today’s hike wasn’t overly taxing, but it proved to be a great introduction to the beauty that is Killarney National Park.

Set on 24,000 acres and established as a park in 1932, this gorgeous region is something truly special. Why just in 8km we experienced the majestic Ross Castle, a 7th century monastic site, the opulent Muckross House Manor and the pretty Torc waterfall, not to mention a boat tour in the park itself.

Not hard to see why Queen Victoria, way back in 1861, said that the view from her bedroom in Muckross House was “one of the most beautiful sights she’d ever laid eyes on!”
