Walking tour through the communities on Toronto Island with longtime residents Linda Rosenbaum and Susan Roy. The Toronto Island community is a charming and unique residential neighbourhood. Toronto. Join us to see homes and gardens and the beautiful public square recently created by community members. Learn about the Island's rich 150-year history – from its days as a healing ground for Indigenous peoples, to a resort community for Toronto's wealthiest families, to today's thriving community of writers, artists and mixed-income families living in the lush green Toronto Island Park.

90-minute tours are offered June through September. Scheduled tours are offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in June and Wednesdays in July, August and September. Individuals or groups of 10 or less can book directly through Eventbrite. There is a link on this FB page. The cost is $25 per person. Take the ferry to Ward's Island. We'll meet you off the 9:45 boat. Tours for groups of more than 10 people are offered daily and can be customized to meet the group's needs. Tours are really taking off this season. Post-covid mad rush, I guess. Never been so busy (no complaints). Last week we had over 30 people from Greenland on a tour. They were delightful and inquisitive (as were we about Greenland).

It's Sping 2022 and we're pleased to be back up and running!

After 5 years, two floods and two seasons of covid, Susan and I have decided to do group tours only with 4 or more people. Happy to tailor them to suit your needs and interests.

We've already given two tours this season and as ever, we were delighted to meet new people and take them around our community.

We're looking forward to more of the same.

If interested in a tour for your group, please contact us at [email protected]

By request, we've added additional tours this year to include art boxes and chats with island artists. We're grateful to Laura Shepherd Barbara Klunder Alastair Dickson Kathleen Doody and Frank Meyer who shared their time, (homes!) and art with our guests., who loved spending time with the artists, asking questions, and viewing additional work, including many items for sale.

Trust me, our residential community on Toronto Island has very little in common with these man-made communities in Dubai, providing each homeowner with waterfront property. But I bet our community life is more interesting! Come take a tour and find out out.

We're up and running!

With a difference this year. With the wonderful outdoor art galleries now installed in front of our neighbours' homes, this year we're includeing them on our 1 1/2 hours tours, and calling ourselves Toronto island Walking and Art Tours.

We're customizing tours for groups of five or more people. So pull some friends, family or colleagues together and get in touch with us at [email protected]. We'd love to show you around.

A real treat awaits you.

Tommy Thompson Park is a wonder. Nice to see this tribute.

Once referred to as Toronto’s “accidental wilderness,” Tommy Thompson Park is now recognized as a fortuitous urban miracle. Initially created as a landfill site on the city’s rapidly developing waterfront, the park’s physical and ecological footprint have grown dra...

Been a long time since we've posted. With the pandemic lockdowns, we weren't sure what the future would hold for TIWT. But now we do. We're back! And will REALLY be back this spring and summer with tours.

In addition to our usual tours through the community, we plan to offer Art Crawls to see the 40 plus Tiny Galleries that have sprung up in front of artists' homes, displaying their works.

Read about them here. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/art-and-architecture/article-mini-art-galleries-around-toronto-island-could-be-the-new-physically/

Looking forward to welcoming you back to the Island!
