Local Toronto Food Tour Guide Mike leading a group to a building that has changed as much as its neighbourhood. Beginning as the Church of Christ in 1891, it became the Ostovtzer Synagogue in the 1920's. In 1966 the Catholic Diocese had purchased the building turning it into a Chinese Catholic Centre, within a decade it would be purchased by the Toronto Homophile association that would use it as a launching point for the gay rights movement until finally the city of Toronto purchased it in 1978 turning it into the Cecil Community Centre.
