Part of my job is meeting with suppliers to learn more about their products and to build valuable relationships that help my clients have the best possible travel experiences ✨ Today I had a lovely brunch with my National Geographic / Linblad Expeditions contact here in Toronto and we chatted about all things expedition ship adventures 🚢 Of course we talked about the Polar Regions 🐧and the Galápagos Islands 🐢but there was another itinerary that has really caught my eye. National Geographic’s Baja California program looks amazing for families. Day 4 - Galapagos Legend

Today we had the chance to sleep in until 7:15 am 🤣 We left our luggage outside of our staterooms and had breakfast before we disembarked the ship on San Cristobal island. There was a rainbow waiting for us as we arrived in the little village by zodiac 🌈 Go Galapagos took care of our bags and we boarded our bus to the highlands to see the famous Galapagos giant tortoise 🐢The ride was about 30 minutes to the National park. The first giant tortoise we met was a teenager called Genesis. We also had a chance to meet some of the new babies and they were so tiny and cute. I can’t believe these little turtles can grow to 300lbs and live up to 200 years! Before we headed to the airport we had some time to explore San Cristobal town and do a little shopping. I had the chance to try some local coffee from the island and it was perfection ☕️ Our luggage was waiting for us at the tiny airport where we boarded our flight back to Quito. We spent the night at the airport before making the big journey back home ✈️

Day 3 - Galapagos Legend

Today we had a wet landing on Punta Pitt beach. Sea Lions greeted us on arrival and we enjoyed a beautiful hike looking for red footed bo***es along the way. After the hike we put on our snorkel gear and jumped in the ocean to swim with the sea lions. We headed back to the boat for lunch and enjoyed our first bit of free time! We relaxed in the hot tub and other common spaces before it was time to go to Cerro Brujo! This incredible white sandy beach is paradise on earth! Once back onboard we enjoyed the ice cream deck party while we circumnavigated the breathtaking kicker rock. What a perfect way to end our last night onboard the Galapagos Legend!

Day 2 - Galapagos Legend

The 6am Sunrise yoga on the pool deck is a beautiful way to start the day 🧘 After yoga is was time for a delicious breakfast in the Lonesome George dining room before our first landing. Today we explored Bartolome Island and hiked up to the famous lookout point 🥾After our hike we got our first glimpse at the Galapagos Penguins. Everyone on the zodiac was so excited to see them up close. Little did we know we would be snorkeling with them a few minutes later! After our first landing we returned to the ship to get our wetsuits and gear ready for some snorkeling right off the beach. During this snorkel we saw lots of fish, a sting ray, octopus and many penguins 🐧We had lunch back onboard and in the afternoon we had another chance to snorkel in a different spot🤿 This time with turtles and a very curious sea lion 🐢🦭In the late afternoon we landed on Sullivan Bay which is an island totally covered in volcanic ash. It was incredible and it felt like we were walking on the moon 🌙 After a bbq dinner el fresco and some Galapagos trivia we all went to bed exhausted and happy! Everyday in the Galapagos is full of magical surprises 💕

Day 1 - Galapagos Legend

After an early morning flight from Quito to the Galápagos Islands we arrived into Baltra airport and transferred to a small dock where our zodiac’s were waiting to shuttle us to the Galapagos Legend. Once onboard we enjoyed lunch el fresco and met the crew for our first lecture. Our staterooms were ready and we explored the ship a little before our first landing. The first island on the itinerary is North Seymour island. We had a dry landing by zodick and hiked around the island with our naturalist guide Frank. As soon as we disembarked we saw so many Blue Footed Bo***es and Frigate Birds. There were lots Sea Lions sunning on the rocks and turtles swimming in the ocean. It was such an incredible start to the trip ✨🐦🦭🐢
