Congrats on finding a home!
UPDATE: Elijah has a foster home!
Attention Southern people. This is Elijah. Elijah is one of the dogs that is nearest and dearest to me and has a special place in the charred remnants of what was once my heart. I need this dog to go to a foster home as he has been sitting in a kennel now for over 2 months and I can't stand it. When he came in to rescue, he was unable to walk and he was covered in sarcoptic mange and bald. See his intake picture in the first comment for clarification on how bad he was. He has made an amazing recovery. Now he needs to go to foster to keep getting better and that requires a family to care for him and make him a happy boy.
Elijah is a pocket pyr and he weighs in at under 65 pounds. He is gerbil sized. He is sweet to all and friendly to all and he has no natural enemies, not even Mr. Squirrel. Elijah is great with kids, cats and dogs. Depending on who you ask, he is either three or eight years old, so I am going to organize a celebrity death match events where the vets duke it out so we can establish conclusively how old Elijah is.
He needs to stay in the Middle TN area so he can finish his vet work, but he has no limitations otherwise. Unless you run the Sanctuary for Rabid Skunks or you have a piranha-filled moat around your house. I would probably say no to those homes. I am so committed to getting this guy in a home I would even be willing to sell my soul, but the catch is I already sold it for $20 and a carton of smokes 20 years in law school, so you'd have to be willing to hold a second mortgage on my soul.
Someone out there is dying to have this perfect dog. If you are interested in fostering Elijah, fill out an application if you haven't done so at www.bigfluffydogs.com (click on fostering FAQs to foster) and then email [email protected]. Make my day kids. Spread the word.
