Sad to see you go my good friend, but I know that sleep better in a new house. If I only have all the money in the entire world, I would have kept you but because I don’t use you any more since my retirement and also I could use the extra cash to pay for the movers to our new house this December, I’m sorry that I have to let you go 🥲 at least I’ll still get to see you one of this day because now you belong to a friend 😄
Finally taking the time to revamp my equipment list so I can sell off everything as I’m taking an indefinite hiatus or simply just retiring from the location sound business. accept if I get a call to do a sequel of rurouni kenshin then I’ll think about it (which these wish full thinking are just impossible) . Didn’t realise I have a redonkcoulous amount of gear that I need to list! 🤣 it’s like a bloody shop it self!
Man ooo man am I in trouble, by the rate Im going I think I’ll only be done after 2-3 weeks with no interruptions. my wife is currently using this room as her office so I can’t just come in and out when ever I like especially during her zoom meetings which is mostly a full day zoom call 😅 and also it saddens me to make this list as i know I’m ready to part with all the gear I’ve accumulated over the decade, so I need to take it slowly because it is one of the main triggers of my depression 🥲
But as most of you in the location sound world can see that even by a glimpse of the picture you know that I’ve spent at least or more then 100k CAD worth of location sound stuff. So if any of you bright souls are an aspiring sound mixer with out gear, broker, or retail shop owners that rents or resells used gear then here is you opportunity to purchase a bundle of gear at 45% of the price of the retail. Im trying to sell the whole bulk for 45k CAD, negotiable with a fair price but low ballers will be rejected ASAP. Locals in Ontario are welcome to view at my house, or those who are seriously interested but not in Ontario (other side of the globe) we can arrange for a zoom meeting.
Re-cell 3 of my dead vmount battery (green batteries are the old cells and the pink ones are new). I just want to see if I still have it in me servicing my own equipment and also I’m going to bundle it together with all my gear when I sell it.
My lost, your gain to whom ever is purchasing my whole inventory. I think that’s it no more tinkering with with the old toy, as much as it saddens me it’s time to make a full list as my old friend deserves a new home.

Wooohooo finally after 7 months of being in this new country, 3 months of work and 2 rejection, as they say third times the charm!!! Officially an IATSE boom operator permittee!!!
This is a dream come true as I’ve always dreamt about being part of this established union since the day that I shifted doing front of house and post production sound into doing location sound full time 12-13 years ago. I honestly never thought a person born and raised in the island of Borneo, situated half way around the world from Canada would ever stand a chance to be part of this Hollywood union.
Many thanks to Voice (superstar sound mixer 🤣)for taking a chance on me being in his team and who introduced me to his guru none other then the legend him self, Mister Michael LaCroix, (sound mixer for all the “Suits” series and also, 1980’s film “The Fly”) which I was fortunate enough and was an honour to have work with him the last 2 weeks of April,2021. Now this amazing veteran not only backed up my application but also, believed in my capability that I’m a right candidate for IATSE not to mention that he went trough the trouble to get some of the committee to re-assess my application ❤️ I feel blessed to have encountered these amazing people in my life!

My wife had a live zoom interview and requested for superior audio quality.15 mins up, everything setup and the women is happy , now that the way to start the weekend😂
I just realise my “big brother”cart looks similar to sponge bob square pants 😂😂
Weekend project 😊just got my diode over the weekend, soldered to my battery plates and boom now I don’t have to worry of having both of my vmount on parallel mode needing to have the same voltage when operating and charging!! Now I can use a fully charge battery accompanied with an empty one to be charge simultaneously via a wall socket with out worrying off the fully charge battery compensating and discharging it self for the empty one or batteries with a lower voltage in the parallel line 😊
March, you’ve been the best month since we’ve migrated to Canada 🇨🇦 so far. Business this month was pretty stable and nearly as good as when left south east Asia, and hopefully in a few months from now it stabilise more. There were some sad news like my application with the IATSE union wasn’t approve, but as I always believe that if one door closes another will open and true enough I got in as a permittee sound mixer for Nabet 700m union🥳🥳nearly made me jump out of my 2 feet when I got the email on set 😂
But I couldn’t have made it by my self if it wasn’t the help of these people who had my back!! To Michael Lee, Vinod Subramanian and Jenn Hui thank you for the reference letter, I couldn’t have done it with out you guys 🙇🏻♂️🙏 much love and appreciation where with out the 3 of you (angels sent from up above 😂😂) backing me up I doubt that my application would have been approve!
And not to forget those few individual who I’ve personally met since I arrive, and has helped me to jump start my career here by giving me business, work and personal advice Voice Gajic, James Lazarenko, Joey Lavoie and Kirill Belousov. Thank you so so much, what ever you guys did for me might not seem a lot in your eyes but it means the world to me 😊 no word could justify the gratitude that I have towards you guys🙏🙇🏻♂️

Praying hard that it won’t explode 😂
My 48 bank AA charger wasn’t working. 2 of the 12 banks doesn’t charge or flashes for no reason even when there no AA battery inserted. Took of the cap and guess what the problem was, a pcb mini transistor is missing and apparently it’s stuck glued to the plastic casing of the charger 😂 so manage to unglue it with out destroying this fragile little transistor, and soldered it back to the pcb board. Low and behold it’s alive again 😂

Now, time to make this baby titan carts and transform it into a real Titan!! First addition of changes on the big antenna mast, I’ve added quick fist (I think that’s what it’s call, can’t remember 😅) with a mini magic arm with robo cup at the bottom, so it can act as a boom pole stand and also weight when I for the antenna pole and mast when the antennas needed to mounted on legs (the antenna pole is modular and can be screwed into a light stand leg) to be closer proximity on set if ever deemed necessary 😊
Next upgrade in this few days,would be using clear waves software on a windows 10 tablet hooked to the rf explorer so I can analyse some real-time rf spectrum included with some real time rf coordination too. I have to thank the person who introduced me to lectro wireless designer on set, as by learning from him I am convinced that using a software base for some real-time rf coordination is the way to move forward.
A few months from now hopefully if there are more jobs coming in, I’ll be able to get my self a jackery 1000w, so I can not only power up the cart for the whole day with out an AC outlet but also parallel charge my vmount batteries as backup power for the cart,power the windows notebook for the whole day and also charge my DIY pelican like charging station at the same time(All double A, triple A, 9v, Sony NPF, and USB devices).
Last but not least, a car ramp to wheel the titan aunty market cart into the car as it’s to much for an overuse spine like mine to handle carrying the cart alone 😅
Whew! that’s quite a handful, and I know that there’s more that can be done, like learning auto cad then invest in a 3d printer and 3d print the s**t out for the cart 😂 Also I’ve been poison by the same guy who introduced me to wireless designer to build my own utility follow cart 😂😂 well then a man can dream, can’t I?so let’s go the whole nine yards like more microphones and who doesn’t want the sexy wisycom mcr 54 wireless package. But all of those wants will have to come in later because from a pragmatic point of view I have no money to spare for such wants for now 😂😂😂😂

Woke up early this morning, with thoughts of how do I make my lectros srb5p into just a normal srb as it’s been bothering me for quite a few years now in terms of having more space and also I’ve never really needed the 5 pin option since the day that I purchase it. After an hour of dismantling the unit I finally figured it out and Low and behold I present to you lectro srb but with out the 5p attachment, keeping the 5p in storage for just incase type of purposes seeing that it’s modular but needs resoldering the wire if ever attach again. Couldn’t be more happy to start the weekend with minor achievements. 😊
Another week done! Looks like work is finally establishing and hopefully to get back to where I left off in asia in a couple of years. Thank you to those who took a chance on me in making my stepping stone here in this new country , I shall not let you down🙏🙇🏻♂️
