Fundy Stargaze 2022
What an incredible weekend at the Fundy Stargaze 2022 star party! Thank you to the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) - Group, Saint John Astronomy Club, & Fundy National Park for hosting this event. I attended with a film crew from Bellefeuille Production who is creating a documentary on Deep Sky Eye Observatory coming this spring! Thank you to Mélanie Léger and her team for dragging me out to Fundy :) Wonderful to connect with my old friends Emma MacPhee, Charles Doucet, June MacDonald, Ted & Karen Dunphy, and of course Paul Owen (star party chairman), Chris Curwin, & Mike Powell from Astronomy by the Bay. Thank you to all the volunteers that make this happen, and to all the 500 guests who came to experience the night sky! Clear skies!
An awesome stargazing night last night with a display of the northern lights! Not something we see here often.
A great time stargazing with a group from Forest Glenn despite the conditions. It did clear up for a while.
Well, no aurora here last night, but a beautiful night. Here's a time-lapse from the all-sky camera setup at my house. I should be getting the computer-controlled dark sky meter in the next few days and I put this setup in a permanent location a the observatory. Venus was at the 4'oclock position just before the morning clouds rolled in.
