These sunny days are making us want to be on the water! Join us for a sunset tour 🌅 We will head out to the beautiful Broken Group Islands to view the rugged rocky coast line or stay within the Ucluelet Harbour viewing the town from a different perspective. Either way we will enjoy the sunset on the water at the mouth of the harbour before returning to the dock. Call to reserve you spot!

Thinking back to summer days in the fog.🌫
Some worry about how the fog will affect their tours, but really the fog adds a hint of mystery and uniqueness that you never quite expect.

What a spectacular day to be in the water watching bears just do their thing.
Here we are watching a momma bear with her two cubs.
Vancouver Island Black Bears are omnivores, eating both meat and plants. Being on a boat we often see them foraging on the shoreline, eating mussels, crabs 🦀, and barnacles but their diet also consists of berries🫐, roots, grasses🌱, nuts and insects.
This momma is doing great teaching her cubs where and how to get food 🙌

Do you want to learn about Ucluelet's History? Then join us for the "Ucluelet History Boat Tours" with Ucluelet and Area Historical Society and Subtidal Adventures.

Find some friends, bring your parents, or just bring yourself and enjoy a 2-hour guided boat tour of Local history sites onboard the Dixie IV. Learn about three separate cultures living side-by-side in challenging historical times. First Nations cultures had been thriving here for millennia when Europeans began using the "safe Harbour", then put down roots in the late 1800s, soon to be joined by the Japanese Canadian fishing families. Over the early 20th century these three cultures living side-by-side but separately, developed a surprising level of cooperative interaction.

Upcoming Tour dates: Saturday July 20th and Wednesday July 24th

Traditional Ucluelet First Nation place names, meanings have been provided by the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government Department of Culture, Language, and Heritage and Heritage for the purposes of this tour.

These tours are made possible by the Ucluelet and Area Historical Society through grants they have acquired from Clayoquot Biosphere Trust and the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District. Subtidal Adventures Ltd. not only helps host the tour on the Dixie IV but also donates a portion of the proceeds back to the Ucluelet and Area Historical Society.

Feeling incredibly lucky to have witnessed the majestic beauty of orcas in their natural habitat. Watching Ocra's is always an unexpected treat on our tours and these amazing creatures never fail to take our breath away! 🌟
