An absolutely gorgeous early morning paddle in Raja Ampat. Early morning is my favorite time of the day in Raja. The birds are singing in all their glory, the low lying sun lights up the limestone cliffs beautifully, and the seas are so calm, they create a perfect reflection. What a place!

This photo may be very disturbing for those of you who live in places with stinging jellyfish. This is a marine lake in Raja Ampat that is elevated above ocean level, but is influenced by the ocean levels and by rain. So it has a unique PH level. Endemic creatures exist only in this particular lake. One, being these beautiful STINGLESS jelly fish. To swim with these jellies is like being on another planet.

A paddle in Misool is a paddle like no other. Deep pools give way to shallow reefs. One kayak guest said we should call these outings paddle-snorkeling because the waters are so clear you can see all the fish, coral and species vividly!

We are back onboard the Jakare for the start of our 2024/2025 season. Matt and I have never been on the Jakare together, and it’s extra special that we are both onboard getting lots of new footage of this incredible place! We had an incredible paddle this morning in the Thousand Temple Islands. Thousands of limestone formations that look like temples! Everyone is diving right now, on the lookout for Mantis Shrimp, nudibranchs, and a myriad of coral species and colors!
