Starting Sunday, October 27, 2024, fall flight schedule changes will take effect at the Canadian Rockies International Airport, which will create significant increases in passenger flows, with peak passenger volumes happening on Monday afternoons.

Monday travellers will find higher than normal passenger traffic, due to three outbound flights between Air Canada and WestJet scheduled between 3:00pm and 4:15pm.

To ensure a smooth check in process, and to avoid unnecessary congestion, we strongly encourage all passengers to leave themselves plenty of time between arrival and screening (90 minutes minimum), and to be particularly attentive to the communications and instructions provided to you by your air carrier.

“It is important we share this information with the public well in advance of this schedule change. We really want travellers to be prepared when they arrive at the airport and ensure their experience with us is as pleasant and smooth as possible,” says Tristen Chernove, Airport Manager, Canadian Rockies International Airport.

Today the port was Otaru and we took a shore excursion to Sapporo. We saw an open air History Museum (much like Fort Steele). Walked in the local fish market and saw beautiful views from Hitsujigoaka Hill. This area Famous for chocolate and sweets!

Our shore excursion today was to Hirosaki, the castle town. We had a great guide, Yuko. Walked a little, shopped a little, learned a lot!

I found a duck! If you have cruised Holland America you’ll know what I’m talking about. I think I’ll keep it for a few days and then hide it for someone else to find!
