There is also the option to do some sea kayaking

if one wants an adventure on the water. The island offers lots of bird watching with it's 250+ different breeds of birds. There are lots of hiking trails offering beautiful vistas. With four bedrooms (two queen, one full and one twin), two and a half baths, the cottage comfortably sleeps and accommodates 7. Nestled on 4.5 acres, set back from a 50 foot cliff, with views across the cove, this is truly a unique property. It is available as a Sunday-to-Sunday vacation rental from April to October. BREAKING! ⚠️ The SECOND mother and calf pair of North Atlantic right whales has been spotted off St. Catherine's Island, GA by CMAquarium. 🐋

Mom #3360/Horton was seen with her 3rd known calf yesterday after sadly losing her previous two calves. Horton is more than 21 years old, and continuing to help her species survive.

Calving season has officially begun, so it is extra important during this time of the year that vessels slow down to be aware of their marine neighbors to avoid collisions. Visit rightwhales.org to learn more and stay updated.

The Swallowtail Lighthouse on Grand Manan Island has seen decades worth of water damage due to poor weather and wild storms. The structure was months away from irreparable damage until a fundraising effort and a helicopter provided the solution.

Grand Manan Milky Way

Grand Manan Island (also simply Grand Manan) is a Canadian island, and the largest of the Fundy Islands in the Bay of Fundy. It is the primary island in the Grand Manan Archipelago, sitting at the boundary between the Bay of Fundy and the Gulf of Maine on the Atlantic coast. Grand Manan is jurisdictionally part of Charlotte County in the province of New Brunswick.

Technical details: Nikon D850, ISO 25,600
Adam: "This shot consists of 3 exposures blended for depth of field and low noise. All shots are taken with the Nikon D850 and Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens @ 14mm. The sky is 1 shot at ISO 25,600 for 20 seconds, and the foreground is made of 2 exposures, 1 at ISO 1600 and f/4 for 60 seconds during blue hour to get the very very close shrubs in focus, and 1 at ISO 1600 and f/2.8 for 16 minutes in complete darkness for the background cliffs and water. I didn't use a blue hour shot for the background cliffs and water because I find the blue hour shots result in harsher shadows than really exist in total darkness, and I wanted the Milky Way reflection in the water and in the right spot to match the Milky Way in the sky, which means that in situations like this I have to take a foreground exposure (at least for the water) generally right before/after taking sky shots."
