When Scott DeGraaf booked this combo hunt, I told him it was a pretty ambitious archery project, but we pulled it off! Called in this 41 inch bull moose yesterday to 15 yards and he made a perfect double lung shot. It was a surreal experience to see the moose destroying trees and grunting the entire way in.

Doubled up on bears yesterday. Scott got this huge old dry sow for his second bear and James got a nice boar for his first bear ever. Both with a bow.

After harvesting his first elk in the morning, we sat Scott on the gut pile for the evening and he got quite a show. While we were having lunch, a bear was already on it and he got to watch two of them fighting up close and personal. After passing up one dragging the guts 10 ft away from him, Scott arrowed this beautiful bear, which proceeded to run almost straight at him to its trail 5 ft away 😄.

As of yesterday, Scott DeGraaf had never seen an elk in his life. As of this morning, he's a certified killer. Called in to 25 yards and killed with a bow.

Albertans in the Madden area are urged to stay vigilant following a recent grizzly bear attack that left an individual seriously injured.

On Sept. 1, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services (FWES) responded to an RCMP report of an attack by a female grizzly with sub-adult bears. The incident took place in a forested area near the hamlet of Madden in Rocky View County, resulting in serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

FWES confirmed through DNA that the same bear was responsible for a fatal attack in 2021 near Waiparous. Officers are actively working to locate the bear, using traps and low-flying aircraft. Expect to see an increased presence of officers in the area.

📍 Location to watch: Madden, between Lochend Road and Highway 22.

🛑 Report sightings: Call the Report-A-Poacher hotline at 1-800-642-3800 if you see a grizzly bear with sub-adult bears.

1 Sept 3-8 archery elk $4750 USD
1 Sept 3-8 archery moose $4000
1 Sept 3-8 archery bear $2500
1 Sept 9-14 or 17-22 rifle bear $2500
4 October 9-14 rifle moose $5000
3 Nov 4-9 or 17-22 rifle moose $5000
4 November 4-9 or 17-22 $5000 or add to moose for $3000. Mule Deer also available as add on.

Combinations are available and there may be some flexibility on the dates.

Wolves are free as an incidental (with license) and there is a pretty good chance of seeing one.

These are 100% opportunity rate hunts in high density areas. They are not marketed as guaranteed trophy class hunts, though your chance of a monster is as good as anywhere in Northern Alberta. They are cheap only because they are last minute.

Meals, accommodation and transportation while hunting are included.

Licence ($150-350 CAD) and 5% GST is extra

Decided to outfit full time this fall last week and the bear and elk hunts sold quickly, so I was able to lease some more.

As of right now I have available:

1 Sept 3-8 archery elk $4750
1 Sept 17-22 rifle elk $4750

1 Sept 3-8 archery bear $2500
1 Sept 9-14 rifle bear $2500

1 Sept 3-8 archery moose $4000

3 Nov 4-9 rifle moose $5000

Waiting list is available for whitetail November 18-22 pending allocation availability.

It was a ridiculously beautiful morning at the lake with Ainsley and his son. And the fishing was amazing! I'm all booked up now until the second week of October but thanks to everyone who came along for the ride!
