Canada will be extending the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET): https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2023/03/canada-extends-support-for-those-fleeing-russias-illegal-and-unjustifiable-invasion-of-ukraine.html

This means:
✅ Ukrainians and their family members will have until July 15, 2023, to apply overseas for a CUAET visa free of charge.
✅ Anyone holding a CUAET visa will have until March 31, 2024, to travel to Canada under the special measures.
✅ CUAET holders who are already here in Canada will have until March 31, 2024, to extend or adjust their temporary status through these measures, free of charge.
✅ Settlement services normally reserved for permanent residents will remain available until March 31, 2025.
✅ Ukrainians and their family members will continue to benefit from one-time transitional financial support and access to emergency accommodations in major cities for up to two weeks if needed.

Until December 31, 2023, if you’re an international student and have a study permit with off-campus work authorization, there is no longer a limit on the hours you can work.

Remember: if you drop to part-time studies because you’re working too much
✔️you will lose future eligibility for a post-graduation work permit,
✔️you lose eligibility to be working off campus, and continuing to work could make you inadmissible to Canada on future applications.

Changes to the medical inadmissibility policy of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

All foreign nationals who are applying for a permanent resident visa or applying to remain in Canada as a permanent resident, as well as certain categories of temporary residents, must undergo a medical examination.

No health condition automatically leads to inadmissibility; rather, each case is assessed individually, taking into consideration the applicant’s immigration medical examination and the costs of services that would be needed to treat their diagnosed medical conditions.

Reducing barriers for people with disabilities is a priority for the Government of Canada. These changes will help immigration and promote inclusion for people who, despite their health condition, can make a contribution to Canada, including persons with disabilities.
