Meet the Spirit Bear!🐻 ✨ This rare white black bear, known scientifically as Ursus americanus kermodei, is a subspecies found exclusively in British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest.

Unlike albino bears, its creamy fur comes from a recessive gene mutation affecting melanin production, carried by both parents. Estimates suggest only 1 in 40 to 1 in 100 Kermode bears are born white, thriving on a diet rich in salmon from the region’s pristine rivers. Protected by conservation efforts since the early 2000s, this elusive creature roams moss-covered forests and misty fjords.

Out here, it’s all about the simple wonders of nature. Watching sea otters float effortlessly in the kelp, using it to anchor themselves while they rest or play, is a reminder of how beautifully they’ve adapted to life on the wild west coast. From a grizzly bear taking a swim to the flick of an orca’s tail and a seal basking on the rocks, every moment out here is something special🦭♥️

Everyday on the Curve Of Time is a new adventure!
