Liberty Enlightening the World

"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.

Bonjour! Did you know that there's a certain way to enjoy your café au lait at a Parisian café? Here are some tips to help you blend in with the locals:

1. Don't order a latte or cappuccino after 11am - it's seen as a breakfast drink.
2. Sip your coffee slowly and enjoy the ambiance.
3. Don't ask for to-go cups, instead, take a seat and relax.
4. Don't forget to say "Bonjour" and "Au revoir" to the staff, it's a sign of respect.
5. Stand up closer to the counter to save money (you will pay more for your beverage if you sit down)
6. Know how to order (café means espresso with sugar on the side, café allongé means slightly diluted "American-style", and noisette is espresso with milk and sugar on the side. Café au lait or café crème is espresso with lots of steamed milk).

Follow these tips and you'll be savouring your coffee like a true Parisian!
