Hi! ☺️ It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done an introduction and there’s some new follower so here we go! 👇🏽

I’m Tracey and I’m the founder of Follow your Heart Travel, a small Canadian 🇨🇦 based, boutique travel business that curates fabulous trips for curious travellers. 🌍

I love traveling… ✈️🚆 In fact, even before my trip ends I’m already thinking of the next place I want to travel to. Plus - I actually don’t mind living out of a suitcase…! 🧳

I’m Canadian 🇨🇦 and I have lived on a Greek 🇬🇷 island for the last five years… Before That was in the Philippines 🇵🇭 for almost 15!

I love eating great 🍱 🥗🌮, I love playing cribbage🃏, I love a great ☕️ , I love art 🖼️ and history 🗿and galleries, I love my cat 🐱Georgie and my dogs🐶🐶🐶🐶. I also love dark 🍫 … That’s a definite the way to my heart! Hahaha 😍

Meeting people while I travel is probably the single most favourite experience I love having. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾❤️

What’s awesome is when you travel back to a place and you meet those same people and you see that you’ve already established a friendship with them… There’s nothing quite like that 🫶🏽❤️

I curate really fun trips using local guides 🗺️so that my guest gets the most authentic experience they can in the country we are visiting. 🌍

Local cultural experiences, combined with seeing the incredible sites that the countries have, all while having fun - this is what we do.

I also love giving postcards 📫away from the places that I travel to… In such a digital world it’s so wonderful getting something in the mail. That’s not a bill or junk mail…

Be sure to look out when I’m giving those away on my stories. 📲😉

That’s a little about me. 🙃

I’m so grateful you’re here🙏🏽 following along my crazy adventures and getting a bit of travel inspiration on my little piece of the Internet 🥰

📍Athens, Greece 🇬🇷

Even in winter, Athens is a lovely getaway! The sun shines lots and its blue sky is absolutely stunning.

From the ancient ruins to the museums, the quaint cafes to the national gardens, Athens, when it’s sunny, is a treat to visit in the “off season”.

🤫 it even has less tourists so that’s always a treat too! 😉

Have you been to Athens in the off season?

📌 Destination Highlight: CHEFCHAOUEN SUNSETS FROM THE SPANISH MOSQUE

A favourite thing I like to do with my guests when we are in the blue city, also known as Chefchaouen in Morocco, is walk up the small mountain to watch the sunset over the picturesque medina.

It’s an easy 30-45 minute walk up if you are even the slightest bit active. 🏃🏽‍♀️

I remember it the first time in 2015.
It was simply magical✨

And every group since - we have done it before dinner. ☺️ It’s kind of our thing.

I mean, really. Look at these views! STUNNING! 😍😍😍

Do you like watching sunsets? 🌅

Colourful. 🧡💜❤️🩵💚💛🩷

This is definitely one word I would describe Morocco as.

From their fabrics and clothes, to the herbs and food, Morocco is BURSTING with colour everywhere you go across the kingdom.

We have Small Group trips this fall - what are you waiting for? Dive into the colourful world that is magical Morocco 🇲🇦

When the world is starting to look pretty dark these days, it’s people like this that make you realize how beautiful the world still is.

Somebody who follows me on my page sent me private message saying they wanted to send me something.

She said she would send it to my friends Shop in the city centre.

I went and fetched it today, and I was completely taken back by the kindness that burst out of this box .

I think - because I don’t actually know her - she has something to do with the little taverna by the Sea in one of the villages that I have been meaning to go visit… The first tote bag has the name on it.

Then I opened up the little handpainted bag that said your personal tote bag and what did I find but treasures!

I’m assuming her!

And the grand finale was the beautiful colourful tote bag with the great quotes that I tried to live by:

“Travel more, worry less”

“Wanderlust: to roam or travel with an insatiable desire.”

Thank you, dear stranger… your artwork is beautiful and you made my entire week 🥰

🤫 CONFESSION: I don’t like cooking 🥘
I love eating. But cooking.
It’s not my favourite pastime. 🙄

I cook out of necessity. 😁

That being said, when I first went to Morocco in 2015 and took a cooking class, I was thrilled at how easy it seemed.

Prepare the ingredients , put in tagine, let it cook and VOILA!

I started making Moroccan food at home on the regular because I missed Morocco and making dishes from there made it feel a little closer. ❤️

One Christmas a few years ago here on my Greek island, I made a Moroccan feast for my friends. I even made an alternative vegan Kefta tagine for my vegan friends. Hello!

I think I did pretty good. 😉

So no… I don’t cook. I don’t like cooking.
But I do cook Moroccan pretty damn good. 🙃✨🙌🏽

✨Just me dreaming about warmer ☀️ times as a cold 🥶spell comes through these next days on my Greek island.

Ahhhh the beach ⛱️ villages and 🌊 , the warm sun ☀️ and everything that makes my Greek island amazing to be on during summer! 👙🕶️🍉😎

One of favourite places to go in the shoulder seasons here (May/June & Sept) is Skala Eresos.

Located on the north part of the island, Skala Eresos has a chill, cool vibe that makes summer absolutely awesome. The beach is lovely and the sunsets are PERFECT 🤩

I have been so fortunate to meet many shop, restaurant, and accommodation owners in the area that I know exactly what my guests will love during their time there and who I need to talk to. 🥰🙏🏽

Summer - come quickly! ☀️❤️⛱️

📌DESTINATION HIGHLIGHT: the colours & textures in the Fes souks 🇲🇦

With over 9,000 streets, the labyrinth that is the Fes medina is a wonder to explore. Especially its bustling souks! 🛍️

(I always hire the best local guides 🗺️ in Fes to ensure an enriched, fun and memorable experience for my guests!)

It is a sensory overload and a feast for the eyes! 👀An incredible experience that every traveller should experience at least once.

I’ve been over a dozen or more times and still see something new each time 😉

Join one of our small group trips 🧳 this autumn or contact me to arrange dates that suit you best ❤️

DETAILS from Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat

If there’s one thing that can be said, it’s that Moroccan architecture is DETAILS!

Located in Rabat by Hassan Tower, it contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons, late King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah🤲🏽

The mausoleum stands on an elevated platform at the southeastern corner of the esplanade.

It is a rectangular structure made in reinforced concrete covered with white marble on the exterior.

The exterior is marked by porticos of Moorish arches and a pyramidal green roof.

The arches are also polylobed and the wall surfaces above them are carved with a characteristic Moroccan sebka motif.

Inside, the mausoleum chamber is covered by a dome of mahogany wood with coloured glass, while the walls are covered in zellij tiling. Some elements are finished with chased brass.

DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS! ✨

📌DESTINATION HIGHLIGHT: Roman Aqueducts on Lesvos island near Moria village 🇬🇷

“The Roman aqueduct of Mytilene is one of the most important technical works of antiquity, probably dating to the end of the 2nd or the beginning of the 3rd century AD.

“The project’s engineer was a real genius who achieved a continuous water flow over irregular terrain with different ground levels by bridging the valleys with rows of arches for the water conduits to be placed across.

“The most impressive part of the aqueduct is the water bridge with its tiers of arches that survives in Moria, with a length of 170 m and a maximum height of 26 m. It comprises 17 pillars made of carved stone plinths, while the arches of the upper tier bearing the water conduit are made of solid brick. The pillars and tholites of the arches are of local marble.”

I highly recommend everyone seeing this incredible structure. There are signs when you get to more village that tell you how to get to the Aquaduct… Bear in mind that you’re going to be going down very narrow cobblestone streets and it might feel like you’re not going the right way. 😉

But soon enough, the grand structure will be before your eyes amongst an olive grove l just outside the village. ☺️

A few of my favourite places in Essaouira 🇲🇦

Essaouira it’s probably my favourite place in all of Morocco.

In fact, I started looking here first for an investment property, but decided that it wasn’t the right time… Maybe one day though 😉

Their countless small shops and fun places to eat in the UNESCO world Heritage site medina.

Here are some of my favorites… Maybe I should make a series of these one day… Because I have many favourite things in Essaouira.

But for today, I’ll give you four:

1) - Youness is an incredible artist who takes what would be considered junk or garbage in some peoples eyes and repurpose it into amazing art 🖼️ I’m so happy to have some of his in my living room at home. 💙

2) .loft by - I first went to this fun artistic restaurant in 2015 with my very first group to Morocco…! I have since made a point of taking my guest there every time we are in Essaouira. With fabulous food, live local music, amazingly decorated and curated pieces throughout, Othman has made Mega Loft an institute that must be visited in Essaouira. ✨ Mega Loft

3) The local seafood market. Here you can actually choose what you want to eat for lunch. You simply go to one of the fish fenders, pick your seafood and then go over to one of the small restaurants who will grill it and prepare it for you. This is as local as it gets and it’s always a fun experience. 🦀🐟🦐

4) .essaouira - a fairly newest establishment over the last couple years, Fish Burger has got some of the best crispy burgers 🍔 I have ever tasted on the planet. I think they even have expanded and have a place in Casablanca now. A definite must try.

5) - a beautiful Oceanside Riad in the Medina with extraordinary views and wonderful service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have been going here for years with my guess and they’re always blown away by their rooms and the views… especially at sunrise and sunset 🌅 Riad mimouna

Essaouira 🩵- the Windy City. Have you been?
