I have always loved ceramics / pottery. I can’t help but buy a new piece any time I am in an artisans shop. I love it!
And I have secretly dreamed of learning how to make ceramics. To throw clay. To create pieces.
Every time I am in Fes with guests and we go to the pottery cooperative, they ask if anyone would like to try the wheel. I always have at least one guest who wants to.
This time I wanted to…! So I did! (Thanks for the push @freychristel ! 🤍)
And sure enough…I loved it. As you can see. (And yes I think I drooled lol!) 🤣
Where will this lead me? Time only knows. 😉

Ouzofest! - a yearly fest to kick off summer!
Lesvos is known for being the ouzo capital and with 17 distilleries that are responsible for more than 50% of Greek production.
Ouzo, a dry anise-flavored aperitif, is widely consumed in Greece and shares similarities with other anise liquors like pastis, sambuca, rakı, and arak.
Rich in local botanicals and traditional methods, Lesvos distilleries are dedicated to quality, tradition, and authenticity.
Ouzo is typically mixed with water, served with ice cubes and mezes, and has a smooth licorice-like taste.
In 2006, the European Union granted ouzo a Protected Designation of Origin, solidifying its status as an exclusively Greek product.
If you missed out, don’t worry - July 8 it will be in Plomari. Be sure to check it out!
What’s your favourite ouzo? 🥛🧊

The Argan nut. One of Morocco’s most sought after luxuries.
Argan oil is used in cooking and beauty products.
And making Argan nut butter is another thing…
At a women’s cooperative near Essaouira where the Argan trees grow we stopped to purchase some Argan goods.
And I tried my hand at the Argan nut grinding.
These women are amazing that they do this day after day.
They are also most like the kind of women you don’t want to mess with 💪🏽😏🇲🇦
What can I say? Lesvos has my heart. 💙🫶🏽
Join me next year on one of our two scheduled trips (or book one for your own dates!) to our favourite Greek island.
Then it will have your heart too 💙🧿🇬🇷
