WestJet is cautioning for potential flight cancellations later this week. When / if flight cancellations do happen our agents will work to assist any of our customers who are affected.

WestJet received a second strike notice from AMFA, potentially starting 28JUN at 5:30 p.m. MT, just before the long weekend with over 70,000 daily passengers booked. The airline is preparing flight cancellations.

WestJet has cancelled a number of flights in anticipation of a possible strike by aircraft maintenance workers on Thursday. Around 6,500 travellers have been impacted. This was a necessary decision by WestJet in order to park aircraft in a safe and organized way.

Alberta is home to the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canada. There are six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Alberta including:

• Waterton Glacier International Peace Park is unique because it is located in two countries: Waterton Park is in Alberta, Canada, while Glacier Park is in the USA.
• Dinosaur Provincial Park is the #1 place on Earth for dinosaur enthusiasts. Located in the beautiful Alberta badlands just two hours from Calgary, more than 150 fossilized skeletons have been discovered in the area.
• Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump: This incredible UNESCO site is a great place to go to learn about indigenous culture and history. Here, Canada’s first people drove buffalo over the edge of the bluff to their death so that they had enough food to feed the whole community as well as skins and bones for clothes, tipis, and more.
• Wood Buffalo National Park is the largest in Canada and one of the largest in the world. It’s also shared with the Northwest Territories.
• Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks; these breathtaking parks are comprised of Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, which are in Alberta, as well as a few others that are located in British Columbia.
