The new measure for families fleeing violence in the Ukraine is now open. We continue to help where we can and will be contacting all of our partners and affiliations to ensure they have the most up to date information on the evolving situation.

Today we’re launching the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET), a special temporary residence pathway to welcome Ukrainians and their families to Canada: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2022/03/canada-launches-new-temporary-residence-pathway-to-welcome-those-fleeing-the-war-in-ukraine.html

With CUAET, Ukrainians and their family members can stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to 3 years. They will also be eligible for a free open work permit or study permit, which will allow them to work or study across Canada.

Ukrainians and their family who are already in Canada can also apply to extend their visitor status or work permit for up to 3 years or apply for a new work or study permit. We will waive the application fees.

Canada announces new immigration measures for Ukrainians:

-New Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel program to open within 2 weeks
-New family reunification sponsorship pathway for permanent residence
-Ukrainians in Canada can get open work permits
